Our cabin is 20 years old. It was built by the original owner who was a carpenter and the owner of a mill. His attention to detail and craftsmanship are over the top. If you appreciate woodwork you’ll love our cabin. Fishing on the lake offers pike, walleye, perch and bass to name a few. A couple of years ago someone caught a 47” inch pike (at least this is what I’m told.)

This property was very nice, plenty of room for our entire family. The river was so peaceful and beautiful and we absolutely loved the wood sauna by the river. Only regret was we couldn’t stay longer.
I can not say enough about our stay! The location was amazing, the place was as advertised (actually BETTER), and the sauna😍
10/10 will be coming back!
The cabin was very clean and easy to find. The small beach area was perfect for our kids to fish from. Close and convenient to everything we wanted to see. Will stay again if ever back in the area
We got away for a long weekend. It was so peaceful! The sauna was so very relaxing! Sat on the bench and watched the snow fall to cool down. Couldn't have asked for more. Thoughtful host had all the "little" things on hand that made things so much easier. Would love to return someday.
Amazing place, great for some get away from it all time yet close to everything from hiking to restaurants. We always enjoy our time here and wish we could extend when it’s time to leave. Very responsive host.

About the host
Hosted by Ed Amaya
I own a film production company that specializes in commercials in Chicago. I’ve produced independent movies as well. I’m married to a school teacher and we have two kids. When I’m not driving kids around I coach my son’s soccer team in the fall, always a good time.
Why they chose this property
We live in Chicago and my wife is from the area. We wanted a place of our own to stay when we visited family and friends because we had children who were 4 and 2 at that time. We figured that the cabin would help us build memories to cherish as we all got older. In fact during our last visit my wife and I overheard our kids talking to each other about memories of the first pig roast we had at the cabin. That really brought a smile to our faces. Beyond this we loved the location. While it’s nestled in the woods on a lake we are close to relatives, shopping and more importantly a Starbucks. If you go in the opposite direction you go deeper into the woods where you can find fishing streams and waterfalls. All the properties on the lake have an acre of land so you have separation from the neighbors. It’s a very quiet getaway.
What makes this property unique
From the minute you step out of your car you smell the clean air of the U.P., a distinctly woodsy smell. Rarely do you see planes flying overhead. Once inside the cabin you’ll marvel at the view of the lake. As I always say, “the view alone is worth the price of admission.” With each passing day you’re able to sleep in a little longer because the area is so peaceful. There is even a nesting pair of eagles that live on the basin.
