We had a wonderful stay at this property! The home was exceptionally clean and exactly as described in the listing—everything matched perfectly. The location is fantastic, making it the perfect spot for my husband, our standard poodle, and me. We felt comfortable and right at home from the moment we arrived. Highly recommend and would love to return!
Excellent seaside cottage in Cape May. Beach Avenue. Ocean view. Short walk to beach. Quiet part of town. Cottage clean, comfortable, and spacious. All the amenities of home. Would vacation here again. Highly recommended.
We had a great stay for a week at Bernadette and Ron’s cottage! It was perfect for 2 adults and a 5 year old. The sun porch on the second floor was sublime and we spent a lot of time out there. There are two full baths which is so convenient. The kitchen amenities were great (dishwasher, coffee maker, toaster, etc) and there was a washer and dryer. The location was excellent. It is across the street from the beach and you only have to walk about half a block up to get to a beach entrance. The Jitney shuttle picks up about a block and a half away and takes you straight into town. We also had our bikes and were able to easily ride over that way. We’ll definitely look to stay here next time we come back to Cape May!
We were immediately enamored by the cottage, its charm and its location to the beautiful beach! As longtime ‘Jersey Shore’ beach lovers, we couldn’t believe that we could hear the waves and glimpse the ocean from the screened in porch. And the beach itself was beautiful and not too crowded. In addition, the cottage is charming, comfortable, fully stocked, and we were so comfortable and felt right at home. Ron and Bernadette were extremely responsive and the home was stocked with beautiful soaps and lotions as well as all paper products. There were books, puzzles and games -You are also only 1 block from the local Cape May shuttle if you don’t want to drive into town. We hope to be able to book another week next summer!
We spent three weeknights at Columns by the Sea. What an amazing, super private location directly across the street from the beautiful beach! The property had everything we could possibly need. Thanks so much for sharing your beautiful cottage, Bernadette and Ron!
My family and I had a wonderful stay in Bernadette and Rons little cottage by the ocean. It was incredibly spacious, clean and had all of the amenities could ask for including a BEAUTIFUL view. We will definitely stay again and would recommend it to others!
Great place with plenty of room for our family, including our dog. Easy access to the beach and within walking distance of a few great restaurants. Highly recommend this place and wonderful communication with Ron and Bernadette.
A bottle of wine, basket of cookies and flowers greeted us.Pros- dog friendly, great cook’s kitchen, great second floor bath, updated appliances, access to beach(poverty side) AND an amazing enclosed second floor porch where we ate and spent downtime. Also, very nice exterior plants and landscaping.Cons-a little far from the happenings of CM, not easily walkable, but very bike able which is what we did, so bring or rent them, or wait in vehicle traffic. Interior spiral staircase might be an issue for some, does have an exterior stairs that are easier. A dresser on the second floor would be more functional than the fireplace, if the queen pullout is being used. Keep in mind that both bedrooms are ground level. There was a grill and hot tub listed, which I spoke with them about and has since been removed from listing. Lastly, to be considered a premier 10/10, seasonal beach tags must be included. I understand accountability through the stay might be an issue, but verifying their return at turnover cleaning would remedy that. I would recommend it and would stay there again, I’d give it 9/10.
The 2 bedroom (dog-friendly) cottage was perfect. The spiral staircase, second-floor sun room, and the roof top seating (on the "main building", gave us feel the seaside experience we were looking for. Ron was great to deal with and supplied us with everything we needed to feel at home.
One of our beautiful weeks in Cape May. The cottage was so charming and comfortable. Loved the updated appliances and TVs. Really felt like home. The location was perfect, just a short walk to one of the less crowded beautiful beaches. We did have a chance to meet the owner when we checked in, and he was very helpful and friendly. Would definitely stay again.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay once again. The house was comfortable and our hosts gracious as ever. Even during the July 4th week this house is a refuge. Looking forward to next summer!
Beautiful cottage at the beach. Cross the street and there is the ocean. East parking. Wonderful accommodations with a very well equipped kitchen. Would definitely recommend
We usually stay in a hotel for our annual week in Cape May but this year stayed at this wonderful property. I can't say enough positive things about the charm of house itself, the superb location so near one of the quiet beaches, and the graciousness of our hosts. I am so glad to have made this choice and will do so again. I can recommend it wholeheartedly.
So lovely to stay here! It was a bonus to get to meet Bernadette and her husband, Ron. We loved the location, the home, and the love and thoughtfulness that they have put into the home. It is charming, it is creative, it is sooooo relaxing and just wonderful as are Bernadette and Ron. We very much look forward to coming back! Thank you for a wonderful experience and sharing your home with us! Mary McIntosh
Ron and Bernadette are lovely. I cannot say enough about their thoughtfulness and it is apparent when you step into their charming cottage. First of all it was spotless. The decor is beautiful yet comfortable. It was decorated for the holidays which we loved because we were away from home. We especially loved the fireplace that kept us cozy warm. I cannot thank them enough and I do hope we have the pleasure of visiting them again.
Our family wanted to stay in a quite area of Cape May that was close to the beach. The cottage checked both boxes, and in fact we were much closer to the beach than we thought. Great view of the ocean from the screen porch. The Jitney ran past the house, so getting around Cape May was easy and we didn’t have to drive much.
We brought our dog with us and he was fine, however the spiral staircase was tough for the dog. There is a set of stairs outside that leads to the porch, so that was how we got the dog up and down the stairs.
Our family was overall very happy to stay there and we enjoyed ourselves for every second we had there.
