About this property

Direct Ride or Hike In & Out to GMT Trails - Hiking - Swimming - VAST

—- The Tweed River House -—
15 minutes to Killington,  11 to Pico.  On The Tweed River. Ride In & Out from your door to Green Mountain Trails for endless mountain biking, hiking, snowshoeing, X/C skiing and VAST.   Stunning mountain views.

High quality furnishings, furniture, textiles, décor and more.  Fluffy pillows, dreamy mattresses,  Egyptian cotton sheets and soft towels.  Fully and tastefully equipped for your visit.

Here at the Tweed, come for the true Vermont experience. Village location with endless adventure right outside your back door. You may forget that Killington Resort even exists. Nature is your resort.

The residence was custom designed for comfort and organic living. Delivering inviting spaces for cooking, dining, entertaining and privacy with two separate living rooms.

UPSTAIRS: Living room with vaulted ceilings and direct mountain views. Oversized windows, and new Vermont sourced oak flooring. We love how the living room flows into the open kitchen and dining room. Perfect for entertaining. With a bespoke butcher block kitchen island and reclaimed wood dining table, the vibe is homey and grounded. Statement wrought iron lighting with Edison bulbs really make the space pop. Convenient powder room off the kitchen with craftsman wainscotting and Danby, VT marble tile. We've got super fast, fiber optic, 500mg internet, reliable wi-fi and a 55-inch smart TV with ROKU streaming your apps. Two more TV's in the Den and BR2.

The upstairs en-suite master bedroom is so Zen, that you might not want to get out of bed. Especially with mesmerizing view. Separate dressing room for all your flannel, ripped jeans, and wool socks. Full bathroom with funky globe lights and double sinks.

DOWNSTAIRS: Den / Living Room. A sprawling, separate entertainment space with fireplace / woodstove, two seating areas, flatscreen TV and two more big bedrooms. One with a queen bed, the other with two queen beds and a bunk bed. Full bathroom with jacuzzi tub, infra-red heat lamps and Carrera marble tile. Laundry room with washer / dryer.

Three outdoor spaces to enjoy. A 40-foot long wrap-around deck with direct mountain views, three-season screened porch with dining area and front porch sunset deck.

The Tweed is surrounded by mountains and rivers, nestled in what we think is the most picturesque part of the Green Mountains. Walking distance to the village. Pittsfield is designated as a scenic byway by the state of Vermont. A quintessential village with quaint general stores, farm to table fine dining, and a local watering hole with live music and pool tables. Some say this is Vermont's most authentic ski town. No lifts - tons of character. If you crave secret local spots, ask us .... but don’t tell. :-)

We are looking forward to hosting you here at the Tweed.

Hi Guests! I discovered Killington and Pittsfield in 1986 working as a ski instructor. Since those legendary days, I’ve been creating inviting homes and unique experiences for my guests. I still ski (telemark) design and love the arts. Come as guests, leave as friends and return! I welcome you to the Tweed River House.

Why they chose this property

I bought this house to be close to Killington, but in a classic Vermont town without the resort feel.

What makes this property unique

I love the privacy yet having an in town location for gas and groceries. Heaven is riding my mountain bike out the back door to the trailhead of the Green Mountain Trails, riding home, then jumping in the deep swimming hole of the Tweed River to cool off. Grab a cool drink, chill and grill on the 40 foot deck with friends and family. At night lounging by the fire pit or on the screened in porch is bliss. Access to swimming, mountain biking, back country skiing, hiking, snowmobiling, and X/C skiing is priceless. Dining on the screened in porch with mountain views is awesome! Coming home to a gorgeously decorated and furnished space makes the experience very special. Please come experience what I love to do here in Pittsfield. Best, Ed
