Perfect house for a family weekend in Houston!

Traveled to Houston for a weekend museum trip with the grandchildren. The home was a short 8 minute drive from the museum district. Nicely renovated home with a very nice, clean look. The living/dining area is open and was perfect for a family gathering. The neighborhood appears to be in different stages of updating, so not yet walkable, but it is convenient and we enjoyed our stay very much!

Perfect for the price!

My friend and I enjoyed our stay at the property! You definitely get what you pay for so keep that in mind. It is very affordable and the price meets the worth. One downside is the yellow bedroom. The bed is lower to the floor than it appears on pictures and the knob in the bathroom was broken. We were able to get the knob back on to turn the water off, but the hosts were made aware and it will hopefully be fixed before your next stay! The master bedroom no longer has a couch in it but there is a chair in its place and a chair in the closet so it’s spacious. It was only 2 of us so we were fine with the arrangements but larger parties should be mindful of that 3rd bedroom. Other than that it was perfect !! No serious complaints.

My overall stay was terrible! The refrigerator was not working properly. We didn't discover the issue until after we purchased groceries. The freezer was iced over and the frig side was barely cool. I contacted the owner about this issue and the response time was lackadaisical. I waited hours for a response to concerns. Our vacation was for 5 days, and they couldn't address fixing the refrigerator until day 3 of our vacation and the repair would take 2 hours. I refused the repairs, because we were without a frig for 3 days and remaining on premises for the repair would impact our vacation plans. Also, we had to throw out the food we had in the frig, it was spoiled. The next issue was the cockroaches. We were killing 5-6 roaches daily. The bug situation was mainly in the kitchen and living room. I reached out to the owner about this issue, and I never got a response. I even sent pictures of the bugs. I was so afraid that these bugs would get into our luggage, and we would take them home. I was vacationing with my daughter and two granddaughters, and we all are not fans of any type of bug. Imagine having to deal with this during your entire vacation. If I had extra funds I would have move to a hotel. Not having a working refrigerator and the bug issue negatively impacted our stay. We could not use the refrigerator or fully enjoy our stay for fear of the bugs. The owner didn't apologize until prompted or even seem to care how these issues impacted our stay. AWFUL!
