We had 4 generations of family stay and it was the best vacation yet. The house was clean and had everything you need to stay away from home..The host were so nice and accommodating... Views were outstanding!!
The property turned out to be better than expected. The owners are very nice people and live next door. The property is along the river and the house is very quiet and tucked away. We really liked that we could drive 10-15 minutes to go do something touristy in Chattanooga or the Lookout Mountain area and then come back to the peace and quiet of the river house. My son was delighted with fishing off the dock. By the second or third day, I was really enjoying drinking my tea in the morning while looking out the window and watching the river go by. We would definitely go back again. It was just the three of us, but a larger family could stay here comfortably. It is a pet friendly property-they have friendly dogs on the property, but we didn’t bring ours since we knew we’d be leaving our dog alone too long.
Upon arrival the host helped us orient to the home and provided resources for attractions in the area. She was receptive to communication and the place was great for our pups.
Great place to celebrate a birthday with family and friends. Kayaking/canoeing on the river, fire pit in the evenings, games for anyone who wanted to play. Location close to downtown Chattanooga or several good hiking areas. Hosts met us at the cabin to show us property
We enjoyed the beautiful view of the river from the porch during meals. Everyone appreciated the access to the dock, canoe and kayaks, and swimming. The house was well stocked with soap and other travel amenities you often have to purchase upon arrival (toilet paper, etc). Rooms had comfortable beds.
My brother is an outdoorsman and he wanted a house on the river with his friends for a long weekend for his bachelor party. This house and location was perfect. Delon and Laura, the owners, were amazing. It was a great weekend!
This peaceful place is a generational home with changes make through time with little quirks here and there. Yet it remains a "home" with front yard picket fence, large shady trees, overlooking beautiful views of the river and mountains. Laura and Delon were very kind and helpful hosts, living next door in his grandparents home place. Although they were close by, they were very respectful of our privacy. Extended family stayed in another rental a half mile from us and we all enjoyed a wonderful time together - 4 generations within our group and 3 generations in our extended family group. Several enjoyed fishing, with a few nice sized bass and catfish, also some bream. Thoroughly enjoyed our time together - just too short! Thanks for such a nice place to stay. It was like home.
Amazing property! If you are looking for a river house search no more. This house is on a stretch of the Tennessee river that is unmatched. Nestled in between two large foothills and is glass smooth most of the time. The house itself is wonderful. The owners actually live right next door and are very responsive to anything we needed. Would highly recommend this property!
We traveled to Chattanooga for a short vacation and chose this property for it's proximity to downtown and the benefits of the natural surroundings. The stay was perfect. Perfect layout for 4 teens (stayed downstairs) and 2 parents (stayed upstairs). Plenty of room for everyone. Perfectly peaceful. We enjoyed movie night, puzzles, and board games in addition to canoeing and kayaking. We would have enjoyed the fire pit if it hadn't been so hot during our stay. Hosts were incredibly helpful and accommodating. All amenities were provided. Would definitely recommend.
We had a great stay here. This was a great location, perfect by the river, and our hosts were very accommodating overall. They were very flexible with our check in and check out and were very helpful and friendly. We would stay here again!
The house is amazing with such a peaceful ambiance. Plenty of things to keep you occupied on rainy days, puzzles, games, as well as sitting on the deck and watching the rain dance on the river. Our dog also throughly enjoyed her stay and the property is perfect for pets. Delon and Laura are awesome hosts with a wealth of local information. Thank you for a great place to stay and awesome grounds.
They have no keys to secure, 4 dogs running loose and trying to come in, owners approach in the dark to introduce themselves and appear to have been drinking, cheap stained towels, no pillow cases on some b
We really enjoyed our stay. There was plenty of room for our family of 7. House was clean. The host are exceptional. Plenty of toys for the river. They are quite accommodating and friendly.
Our family had a great time at the Tennessee River House! The property is a gem and the property owners are not only great hosts they are even better people. I HIGHLY recommend that anyone looking for a fun and relaxing vacation to consider this beautiful property.
Enjoyed our stay at the river house. Beautiful views, and loved the nostalgic river house. Wonderfully appointed, and loved just hanging out on the balcony taking in the views.
The almost 100 year old family homestead was clean and nicely decorated. Our hosts Delon and Laura were very friendly. Beautiful views of the river and mountains. Lots of birds. This would be a good place for bird watchers. Short travel to suck creek with waterfalls and clear blue water on the sides of the road heading up the mountain to the ridge of canyon.
