About this property
Sitka Farmhouse - Coastal 3 acres, natural pond, forest, 2 miles to beaches
The Sitka Farmhouse is an old coastal homestead on 3 private acres. The home is nestled amongst old-growth Sitka spruce and a tranquil beaver pond - a short distance (2-ish miles) from the misty Oregon Coast beaches. Its peaceful setting provides an outlet for you to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life - a chance to slow down and create lasting memories with loved ones.
The space:
This is our family home which we truly adore and enjoy sharing with our friends and family. Please come and experience the Sitka Farmhouse as a friend, and note that we have some of our things here and it is not a hotel. The house is nearly a century old so there are plenty of quirks and little bits of character built into the experience of staying here. We hope you enjoy the Sitka Farmhouse as much as we do.
Property/Guest access:
The homestead is 3 private acres with no neighbors within sight. We absolutely love that we have our very own beaver pond in our own backyard as it creates a great habitat for wildlife. If you're lucky you may hear some busy beavers working at night in the back of the pond. We often see wildlife like deer, great blue heron, ducks, kingfishers, frogs, etc. on or near the property. Rare sightings of beaver, river otters, and elk have occurred from time to time. Please be respectful of nature as a whole and stay away from the banks of the pond. And be especially cautious if you have any kids in the group, as children need to remain a safe distance from the pond at all times.
We are currently in the process of upgrading our back patio and building an outdoor living area. This construction is a work in progress and won't be finished for some time, but the custom big timber pavilion and patio cover are fully accessible for guest use.
The only outbuilding that is accessible to guests is the firewood shelter adjacent to the firepit. Folding chairs, folding table, some beach toys, etc are stored in the firewood shelter too. Please do not attempt to access the shop, well house, tipi, airstream, etc., unless otherwise instructed.
Pet Friendly:
We love us some doggos at the Sitka Farmhouse! If you are planning on traveling with a pet please confirm with Pat ahead of time. There are dog food and water bowls available at the house, dog towels in both front and back mudrooms, and Paw dog blankets for use on the couch. If you travel with a pet, please ensure you are a responsible pet owner and ensure there is no sign of your pet being in the house when you leave. We understand accidents may happen, and if they do we ask that you communicate with Pat to make things right given the situation. We have a dog name Blitz (boxer/malamute mix) that lives in the house with us when we are there so there may be pet dander in the house in case anyone has dog allergies.
