Beautiful property, loved learning about the history around it. The owner was super kind and made our stay unforgettable. Would highly recommend to others and would come and stay again.
Captain Caviar worked on my time for me. Gave a quick tour and interesting history of the property. Gave good recomendations. I stayed there for the shrimp and petroleum festival. i will be staying again. Caught a few catfish on worms on the fishing deck as well!
Property was old but spotlessly clean. The beds were great. The kitchen utensils were limited...only 4 forks. There was no table suitable for table games. The yard and trees were beautiful. The river view was great as was the sunset. The TV reception was limited to 3 stations. The bath linens were spotless and plentiful. There is no dishwasher. The host kindly supplied fresh fruit, coffee, and cold water.
Awesome home with a fantastic back porch! All of the amenities you’ll need are there, along with great fishing!! Captain John was very helpful and friendly!! We will definitely be back!!
The cottage is wonderful! The entire estate is filled with a remarkable history with stories waiting to be shared. I felt welcome the moment that I arrived And it quickly felt like home away from home. I left wishing that I could stay longer.
Historic riverfront property with easy access to the highway and nearby attractions. Be sure to dine at the Atchafalaya Restaurant at the Idlewild Golf Course. The highlight of our trip was a guided swamp tour with Captain Caviar- beware the alligators and roogaroos!!!
