Wonderful spot for relaxing. Hot tub was more like a warm bath but we enjoyed the stay. Plenty of room, beds were comfortable.

I’m glad our guest had a wonderful stay! I’m surprised to hear about her hot tub description though. The hot tub will heat to 104 degrees F, and we did not receive any questions from her about its operation. We are always available to help out our guests!
The sink was broken in 4 places and caulked back together. The screen porch had huge gaps at the top. Couple soft spots in the floor. Windows were okay but the huge bay window was totally foggy in between the glass all weekend. Has a beautiful wilderness around it. Several deer and the waterfront was amazing. Beds are super small but overall it was a decent place.
Our stay was relaxing we had a great time. The house was beautiful.

Cabin was comfortable, kitchen was pretty good with all cooking and utensils, Cabin was clean, only downfall for us was no TV, no sevice on phones , no internet. But all in all, was a good experience. The Property Management was amazing.

I’m glad you had a good time! It’s true we don’t have TV programming at this property, and if you don’t have AT&T you are not likely to have a cell signal, but we DO indeed have high speed internet. We pay extra for expedited tech support, so when we know about an issue we will get right on it!
My family and I had a lovely long weekend at this cabin off the beaten track. The house was well accommodated, plenty of room for all to sleep and eat and play. There's a huge yard by the river, which is a great place for kids and dogs to play. We got in some nice hikes and got to see the glorious Dolly Sods.
We enjoyed our stay at this beautiful cabin. Our only desire was that the cabin was closer to the Cheat River. Larissa, the Owner, was very sweet to us, and Sarah, the Property Manager, was very attentive to answer all our questions immediately. Thank you so much for this family vacation in the West Virginia Mountains.

We are so glad you enjoyed your stay! The Shavers Fork where the property sits is one of the five forks of the Cheat, but if you want to see the main stem of the Cheat it is an hour’s drive away.
Just what we wanted. quiet, spacious, and comfortable. fully equipped in a beautiful mountain setting. The cabin was clean and welcoming. Everything you need is right there.
We had a wonderful time at this property. I struggle with technology and the owners never seemed bothered by my questions. Our family had a great time. My oldest daughter found everything she wanted to use in the kitchen (she is learning to cook) and our disabled son said it was “the best week ever.” This house really delivers.

Perfect Getaway Vacation
Great getaway vacation. The house was awsome. Lot's of privacy for 2 couples. The furnishings and kitchen were top grade. Wonderful deck to enjoy the morning and a screened area if the bugs get to busy.
Great trails to hike in the woods.
Would recommmend this home to anyone looking for a remote vacation spot.
Only negative was the internet connection was not very strong.

We are happy to report that our satellite internet service provider has FINALLY upgraded its equipment to support true high-speed internet. I tested 8 Mpbs download speeds yesterday after the installation. Upload speeds are better than before, but will still be limited to about 1/10th of the download speeds.
We arrived at night to the cabin, trust the google map directions as clicked from the website. The key was in the lockbox as instructed and we were able to settle in nicely. When we woke up we were surprised to find an enormous green pasture behind the cabin with the river just behind the pasture. It was so beautiful! We enjoyed playing in the river, fishing, and chasing our dog. Mealtime in the screened-in porch was lovely. This week was a wonderful spring break getaway for our family in mid- April.
terrific cabin, woods, river -- great place to relax and enjoy
We loved our stay. Great cabin, beautiful wood construction, great amenities. Very well-maintained and a lovely, relaxing place to stay. Cabin property fronts on a beautiful river. Cabin is in the woods, one distant neighbor.. Peaceful and quiet. The gravel/dirt road (~3 miles) to get to the cabin is well-maintained, though curvy and not wide. Be careful driving at night, going to and from the cabin. Great BBQ place "Smoke on the Water" near Elkins (not far).
Two friends and I stayed here during our alumni weekend at Davis & Elkins. It was the perfect spot for a girls' weekend. We loved the spacious kitchen, the cozy living room, and the extremely comfortable beds. Soaking in the hot tub was a great way to spend our first night there. The outside areas (deck, bridge, river, firepit) are fantastic. Unfortunately, we were gone during most of our stay and didnt have the time to enjoy them. The location is beautiful for a weekend away from it all. It was just a bit too far from Elkins to come and go more than once a day. We hope to return another time when we can enjoy everything the property has to offer (including the gameroom). Thanks for the excellent communication before our stay and for providing such a wonderful place to catch up with friends.
A lot of spider webs, bed downstairs very hard while loft was very soft. Ours however was just right. Lol. Loved the location after we got there. Didn’t mind it being so far out but potholes were terrible & so was dust. Cabin needed frying pan, but all in all was great. We all enjoyed our time, kids loved hot tub & river; liked fire pit, wrap around porch, coziness Would recommend if you didn’t mind being out. Liked privacy
The rustic house in the woods of West Virginia lived up to our expectations. While the furniture was a bit worn, the kitchen and appliances were excellent! Travel to the cabin was easy via interstates and divided 4-lane highways. The final 4 miles were as the owner described--narrow and gravel--but, the road was overall well maintained and one group even found it in the dark. We enjoyed the quaint town of Elkins, took in a WV Railway Excursion, explored the national forest, tried some stream fishing, and enjoyed the local restaurants and shops. A great getaway for my family of eight 70+ year-olds!
We arrived after 4 in the dark. You could not see the cabin from the road and the 49 is a small 4” disk on the fence. Maybe turn on outdoor lights for better view. The 40 rules was a bit over the top. We were very careful not to do anything wrong which took away a little from our once a year family get together. Other than that we did enjoy ourselves as a family. Didn’t mind the mice.
