This home is walking distance to the historic downtown area. Built in the 1840s this home has all the charm of the past with all the convenience of modern day. Comfortably sleeps 4. This is our getaway home in a very quiet neighborhood. Photos do not do it justice. WiFi is available along with 3 smart TVs. With all there is to see and do I doubt you will be watching TV.
The space
This is a beautiful miners home that has been restored. Escape all hustle and bustle of everyday life.

Cute, sunlight from the front of the home and a lovely sun room looking out to the pleasant backyard. Driveway a plus. Not too far for a walk to downtown. Recommend a zig zag walk to make the return easier. A powder room on the first floor would be a great edition and adding handrails on both sides of the interior stairs. We happen to be there during a tornado warning and watch that had one that did touchdown in Lena. There was a big storm front of lots of rain and hail in Galena.. The host texted us to make sure that we were OK and that was very kind of her to do. Enjoy.

It was a cute house for a couples getaway without kids. Super close to downtown, which was great. Only thing the stairs in the house are very steep so just have to be careful. Other than that great house for 4 people!

Why they chose this property

This home is my second home and is filled with family heirlooms, antiques and many amenities. This home is in a residential neighborhood where you are the only guests. Live like the locals do here in historic Galena. This home has been beautifully resored with original floors on the main level. It is a very peaceful stay but really close to all the fun downtown main street offers.

What makes this property unique

Enjoy the gardens and outdoor space while you toast marshmallows by the fire, dine under the stars or read a book on a rainy day from the comfort of the three-season room while listening to the fountain. This home is relaxation at its best. Enjoy this very unique property that I am lucky enough to call our second home.
