Would definitely stay again. The condo was very spacious, cozy, and perfectly located in town. We had plenty of room for the 6 adults and 2 toddlers and we were all able to have the comfort of our privacy when needed. I will say the kitchen was definitely not stocked well, and I know most people don’t cook and choose to enjoy all the amazing food and restaurants in town but we had planned a few meals in the condo and were struggling to prepare with the utensils available and some of them didn’t seem cleaned. The host was phenomenal, I had to call him with a question and he immediately picked up and answered. Overall a great stay and would stay again.

Great location!! Lots of room for the family, and nicely decorated. Nice game room, but didn’t really use it much. Only complaint is that there was dog hair in the beds, rugs, and all over the floors. Dog food was left under the couch and love set in the family room on the 3rd floor. I do understand it’s a pet friendly rental but my dogs don’t shed so not used to the dog hair everywhere. Other than that we really enjoyed our stay. The host was great and very good at responding to anything I messaged him about. Thank you

Enjoyed our stay and the great location. Liked the open space on the top floor that included the kitchen, dining, and living areas as well as the balcony. Great view from balcony! Pictures are very accurate except two very nice showers on bedroom level (entry level floor) where it looks like there used ti be only one. Great upgrade. Owner very responsive and helpful!!

We have been contemplating a change for the stairs, but carpet is by far the best choice when it comes to winter time in Ruidoso. Unfortunately the nature of tracking snow in definitely takes a toll on the look, but the safety of having a durable non-slip surface on the most used stairs in the condo feels like a good long term decision for us and guests.

Nice enough property but only portable AC unit on upper floor

No AC on 2 levels (including the bedrooms). Overall the unit is nice enough for a few days stay. The biggest problem is that the unit only has a portable unit on the top level (living and kitchen area). The bedrooms on the ground level have no AC and it was to hot to sleep... We had the bedroom windows open with box fans in them. Yes... We stayed over 4th of July weekend.. but it wasn't a record breaking temperatures. I reached out to the property manager and he was no help. My parents even left early due to the temperature. The unit has definite structural issues as the all the floors are either soft or uneven.

This tenant reached out to us and said she was unhappy that the listing shows an AC, which it has on the upper floor. Our other two floors are partially built into the hill and stay cooler than the upstairs. The temp was near 89 for this stat and the max we usually see in Ruidoso is 90 and that’s during 4th of July. Unfortunately I was not going to install a AC unit for this tenant, but we did discuss exhaustively about the issue and I was sad that she felt her stay did not meet her expectations. In the evenings the outside temperature reaches down into the 60’s and having the windows open can cool the living floor to the outdoor temps easily. Please keep in mind that if your preference is to have the temperature in the house at 65 during the day then our unit may not be for you. We have personally stayed during the hottest days and never had any issue with the temperature, but our temperature tolerance may be different than other people.

Great place to get away from it all

Four of us came here for a writing retreat. It was a really great space for our needs. Inspiring view, close to hiking trails, lots of good indoor spaces to sit and type. There were a couple of nits to pick. The burners on the stove top are not flat. The doors on the bedrooms stick, so opening or closing them is really noisy. But overall, we enjoyed our stay very much. Our host was very responsive. Maybe next year we can come back and write another few hundred pages.

Nice location, not as described

Overall we had a fairly decent stay. I did have good communication with the owner, he was very punctual about getting back to me. However there were some things that were unsafe such as the railing for the stairs that led down to the game room. It was very wobbly and unstable. Also, there was cable for the tv running along the ground across the bathroom floor entry. When we went to make breakfast, only three of the burners were working and they also did not provide a flat surface to cook on, in other words the burners were tilted. When walking around the condo, I also noticed that the top and middle floor had significant sloping on the floors, it was very uneven. I’m not sure if this is a foundation problem or not but it was very noticeable. We did have some difficulty getting the tv to work in the master bedroom. At first we couldn’t find the remote and it felt as though all the remotes were mixed up. We ended up going to Walmart to buy our own universal remote. Lastly, I booked this condo to accommodate a group of 6, keeping in mind there was going to be plenty of places to sleep as well as bathrooms/showers. A few days prior to the stay, the owner messaged me to tell me one of the showers didn’t work. So during the duration of our stay we were limited to one shower for six people. The owner did credit me a small amount, but I feel for the price of the VRBO, the majority of these issues should have been fixed or ready to go prior to renting. These issues were hard to deal with when you have a big family with small children/toddlers. I hope they can get these issues fixed for future travelers.

Thanks for staying with us. We appreciate the review and your feedback. Unfortunately we had an issue with the lower shower that couldn’t be fixed in time for this stay. We will be renovating the middle bathroom to provide two full showers in April, which will provide a much better setup for future stays. We do have a wonderful custom spiral staircase that leads to the game room and have never had any issues (I’m a big guy) with feeling unsafe when going up/down. I’m sorry that you felt uneasy using it. We have loved that unique feature of this condo, but it’s definitely not a traditional feel for a staircase. We hope you enjoyed your time in the mountains and were able to enjoy the beautiful city and the opportunities that the mountain offered.
