The large kitchen and dining room is wonderful for entertaining your friends and family as is the wrap-around deck overlooking the swimming pool. Deer are almost a daily attraction. Alta Sierra Country Club is open to the public and two blocks from the home. Historic Nevada City with live entertainment, multiple antique shops and varied restaurants is only 12 miles from Alta Sierra and downtown Grass Valley is a short 8 mile drive. The Nevada County Fair is rated one of the best in the country.

If I could give it more stars, I would. Absolutely incredible home in the most perfect location. Super clean, excellent space and amazing privacy. My family had the best time! So did our dog!!!! We come to Grass Valley every year and have stayed at different homes each time. Needless to say, I think we found the one that will be deemed "THE" home for all future stays. Thak you thank you!!

Wonderful Family Getaway

We had a wonderful stay was perfect having a pool to cool off in this hot weather. We enjoyed family time on the patio playing games and relaxing. Beautiful home 5 Star

Great Neighborhood

Below the snow and still part of the best of Nevada County in a great neighborhood. House was wonderful with many warm personal touches. We will definitely be back.

Nice getaway

A nice and spacious house. Big rooms with ample room. Yard is fenced, great for kids and dogs. Equipment is a bit outdated but works ok. Lots of shade

Cozy & Homey

This home has everything you’d want and more! The owner put a lot of effort into making this home the ultimate guest spot. It has all the amenities, the vibe is so cozy and homey! The fact that the home is dog friendly is a plus! Our dogs loved the yard and space. The owner was such a great host, I highly recommend this home for your next stay!

Great house and location

The house is big and spacious. Neighborhood very quiet and friendly. Pool was a tat bit cold for our spoiled dog, however he enjoyed laying by the pool in the sun. Humans got it. We had an issue with the internet but quickly got that up and running thanks to Helga!!

Lovely home in a rural golf community

We loved the area and the house was well-equipped with everything we needed. The spa was nice to have as the weather was cold. We did need to turn it up before using and down before leaving, as requested in the home instructions. The pool was lovely but not the season for use for us. During the summer I am sure it is wonderful. We even went by the country club and enjoyed a drink looking over the course!

Grass Valley Foot Hill Retreat

The property was quite and comfortable. It was spacious and clean. We spread out and relaxed. The pool was chilly but, refreshing. We only had a issue with the spotty internet. The fences are intact but, only 3 feet tall. We kept our dogs on a leash to keep them from jumping the fence and chasing all the deer. Overall games and TV .. BBQ and pool.. Very relaxing.

We weren't in Kansas anymore!

Lovely home, with beautiful deck including a swimming pool, hot tub, and plenty of deck furniture. Beautiful flowers and plants surrounded everything. The inside was wonderfully decorated, so spacious, and livable. We visited our 10 year old California granddaughter, and her Kansas siblings and a cousin, ages 13, 13, and 16, joined us. They loved it, too! Thank you, Helga, for sharing your beautiful home!

Great place in Grass Valley

We had such a great time at this VRBO. It was clean and well equipped. We enjoyed playing Pickleball in the morning and then cooling off in the pool in the afternoon. Although the pool water was rather chilly, it was very refreshing and so clean. There is plenty of seating, inside and out. You feel like you’re on a real retreat as this VRBO is surrounded by lots of trees.

Family trip

We enjoyed our stay! The house was very clean and comfortable. Very well stocked with everything you could need. The backyard/deck area was so enjoyable to sit and enjoy the sun and pool. Helga was very quick to respond if we had a question. Definitely recommend this property if you’re staying in Grass Valley!

This is a family home which has recently been updated. I live in Reno, NV, but have family in the area that oversee and manage the home. Any concerns or needs can be immediately taken care of.

Why they chose this property

This home was built by a family member who lived there until her death. It holds very special memories and will stay in the family forever. We love attending the Victorian and Cornish Christmas fairs, as well as the Draft Horse Classic. Live theater is active throughout the year. We love this area.

What makes this property unique

Golfers! This home is conveniently located within walking distance to the Alta Sierra Country Club - across from the 11th fairway. Wildlife is abundant and can be viewed from the back deck as well as the picture windows from the home. Daily. The swimming pool is a welcome amenity and is fully maintained throughout the year - although cold in the winter.
