House was older but nice. Lots of spider webs outside under the eves. Pillows were dirty. Needs some updates. Beautiful location.

Reviewer Comments:
Mulberry Creek Cabin is wonderful. Our favorite part is the location. We walked to all our events. I'd love ceiling fans in the bedrooms. That's the only addition I'd recommend.
We absolutely loved leatherwood resort. The house needs some remodeling, but most importante it needs pest control asap, there are rats in the cabin,we saw it exploring the house in the living room and kitchen. It also needs a professional plumber to check the showers, the water doesn’t heat up properly. There are times when you turn on the water, it feels warm and hot,but during the shower turns cold and doesn’t warm up again. There are a lot of chipped plates in the kitchen,I would toss them as it can hurt someone.Everything else was wonderful!Thank you

Reviewer Comments:
We were warned prior to our stay that there would be work vehicles out front of the property. The person who called said that she didn't want us to be mad. We should've known that was a red flag. It was OK to have work vehicles out front. It was even OK that the work vehicles were in use every day of our stay (including Saturday - there were upwards of 20 workers every day). However, they blocked our driveway AND closed the road to the main entrance/exit of Leatherwood. It forced us to have to drive all the way to the other exit, which added 40 minutes to our trip. Ugh.Also, it would be a good idea to have the cleaning folks do a walk through PRIOR to any guest checking in. There were lots of dead bugs on the counter in the master bath/window casings/headboard in the master bedroom. The house itself was great and would've been so nice if only the workers weren't out front all day every day.

Reviewer Comments:
This was my 6th trip to Leatherwood with 5 stays at Mulberry. The beds were comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped. The upstairs bathroom had hair on the floor and the glass sliding door to the shower had a 1/4 inch wide of mold over the bottom where the metal met the glass. The washer dryer was a nice. Next to the dryer and wall were 5-6 clumps of lint that had been left on the floor. Downstairs at the entry the blinds that covered the glass door and side window were missing. This allowed people to see inside the house at night when the lights were on. The security gate was being repaired. It really is needed. The maps were not current. They did not show closed paths. We were given 2 maps that had different contradictory information on them. One said a trail was easy the other said it was difficult. The tails really need some work on them. Some areas the trail was eroded without information on the maps. Since there is no internet service on the mountain the trail app doesn't work. Remember to make reservations for tubes. The creek is really fun to tube on. I really love the area but it needs some work done on it. Great restaurant and bar

We had a great time. The location is amazing with the creek right in front of the house. Very spacious with bedrooms upstairs and living downstairs. The property was an hour away from Sugar Mountain.

Reviewer Comments:
Mold, mildew, smell. House is not kept up. Trees crashed all around house and across the top of it. Steps have so much algae built up on them that our cousin slipped and ended up in the yard. I believe the smell in the house came from rodents as there was insulation pieces coming out of the vents and the ductwork is run under the house. Also, when it rains water runs in under the house and comes out the other side. Leatherwood is not what it is hyped up to be.

It’s very unfortunate that you came during a period of time that we were getting torrential rains landslides and overall horrible hurricane effect weather. We were glad you had such a poor experience.
We had a very relaxing weekend. Thank you for a beautiful spot to spend it.
