Secluded Mountain Cabin, Wheelchair/Powerchair Accessible

Adorable privately owned, custom-built log cabin has 1,400+ square feet and is situated on 9 wooded, secluded acres, yet is just 15 minutes from quaint historic downtowns in North Carolina, Tennessee and Georgia, including Blue Ridge. Entering on a specially built ramp (wheelchair and powerchair accessible), the door opens into a large great room with cathedral ceiling. The fully equipped kitchen--microwave, stove/oven, refrigerator/freezer, dishwasher and panini grill--has a farmhouse table that seats 6. The living room, complete with ceiling fan, is furnished with a large sofa and oversized chair and 48' flat screen HDTV with satellite service, DVR, DVD and wall-mounted stereo speaker system. It opens onto a covered porch that runs the length of the cabin and is cooled by 3 ceiling fans helping the mountain breeze; a perfect place to enjoy the quiet woods while resting in Amish-crafted rockers. Above the living room is a loft furnished with matching twin beds, nightstand and dresser. The master bedroom, furnished with antiques, original art and a queen-sized iron bed, has access to the screened section of the porch through lovely French doors, fitted with adjustable shades for privacy. The bathroom is equipped with a handicap shower with removable shower head, seat and railings. All doorways on the main floor are 36' wide. One side of the furnished basement has a full-size, regulation pool table, air hockey table and two counter-height chairs. The other side has a queen-sized Murphy bed, 37-inch HDTV with built-in DVD player and satellite and DVR service as well as a full bath.

Great little cabin in the woods!

We have a fantastic stay! The kids loved the creek, sitting by the fire and making s’mores and playing pool on the pool table. The cabin is great, had everything we needed! Just be sure to bring charcoal for the grill if you’re planning on grilling anything.

Wonderful Mountain Getaway

This is an amazing property with great amenities (pool table, DVDs, books). The owners are friendly and the location is unparalleled for peace and quiet. First floor including bathroom and shower are completely wheelchair accessible.

Perfect little getaway

We loved our stay at this cabin. The first floor was completely wheelchair accessible, even onto the balcony, which was great for my step-father. The cabin was clean and well stocked with anything needed for cooking. The back yard is fenced in for fur babies. The location is very quiet and peaceful, and the view from the balcony is beautiful. We would definitely stay here again.

Awesome stay

The listing of the property on the website was accurate. Contacting Larry and Joyce was a breeze. The cabin was so close to everything, and the restaurants in Blue Ridge were great. Cant wait to stay again. Was a great birthday weekend for my wife.

Nice stay for other-abled guests!

Very comfortable and quiet place. Met the needs of my mother who requires accessible facilities. The drive in is challenging for people who are leery of narrow gravel roads, but I quite enjoyed the drive 😊

Wonderful cabin

The Little Cabin in the Woods exceeded our expectations and provided a wonderful get away. My Mother uses a wheelchair and the cabin worked perfectly for our needs. The kitchen was equipped beautifully and included everything we needed including a coffee grinder! We enjoyed every minute of our stay. We would love to return to the cabin often.

This was the most amazing vacation/honeymoon we have had. The cabin was beautiful . We spent our time playing pool and enjoying the seclusion . We enjoyed the camp fire with chopped wood already availble. It was absolutely amazing!! Thank you for letting us enjoy your wonderful property we will definitely be back soon. Great little cabin in the woods

Joyce was a pleasure to work with during the whole process.. she was kust leaving the house when we arrived. She had blown off the driveway making for a nice welcome.. the layout of the cabin is perfect for 6 people even though we had 4 ladies. Wish had more tome to just sit and enjoy the house and surrounding. We'll be back welcome

Stunning!!

Pics do not do this cabin justice! It is beautiful! Very spacious, great location and had plenty of ammenities. Larry and Joyce answered any questions promptly. Only negative is the number of beds is incorrect. The listing states bedroom two has two beds. A queen and double murphy bed but it only has the murphy bed. Wasn't a big deal though as there was plenty of room for all our guests. Would definitrly recommend and stay here again.

Favorite vacation spot

This is our second stay at the Little Cabin. It fits our family so well! Just enough space but not so much you never see each other. We love the privacy of the cabin and the ease of travel on the roads. We played many games of pool, had smores, played board games. Never even turned on the television. Ms. Joyce is a gracious host. She made sure we had all that we needed and even returned items we left behind. This is definitely our family's favorite vacation spot.

Little cabin in the woods

The only reason i gave 4 stars for accuracy is because of 1 picture of the front door. Plants have grown since that picture was taken. I personally love the seclusion and the 1 car path to get there. Reminds me of growing up in those mountains when roads werent paved. This cabin is set up for families, pets and someone in a wheelchair. As the bio says take your own knife. Ill definitely be keeping an eye out for when it is available again.

Quiet, quaint getaway

We enjoyed the peaceful surroundings and privacy that came with not having any traffic passing & we love the cabin. I would suggest some condiments in the fridge like ketchup, mustard, etc & some things such as foil, plastic wrap & zip lock bags. It was no problem for us because we take our own but I'm sure many would find it very thoughtful & helpful. Most places we've stayed in do provide such..

Wonderful Cabin

We had a wonderful stay in this little cabin. My husband is wheelchair bound so we only used the middle level of the cabin. Cabin was clean and the kitchen had plenty of cookware for us to prepare our own meals. Met the owner twice, he was super friendly and gave us site seeing tips. Our only challenge was the access roads to the cabin, they were steep and winding and my husband had some difficulty staying upright in his chair. So if you have no upper body strength, you might want to bring extra straps or a harness. Other than that big challenge, our stay was flawless and we would love to stay at this property again.

Perfect pet-friendly getaway

What can I say? It was perfect. Well-stocked kitchen with a gas (!!) stove and oven. Comfy furniture and a nice big porch. It's ideal for any level of activity. My husband veered no farther than the porch, and I explored the creek area. We were both happy! It's a short walk to the creek, and from there, you can take a longer hike if you like. Or you can just sit and watch the water. The first floor is accessible --although the bed was a little high for my husband, who has trouble walking. The ramp is great--the gradual slope made it very easy to access the house. It's pet-friendly but didn't smell that way, and the fenced in backyard came in very handy. My dogs loved checking the pee-mail of the previous guests. Finally, our hosts were lovely, answering questions and giving us flowers for our 20th anniversary. Wish we could have stayed a month!

Joyce was very friendly and quick to respond to messages. The cabin was very clean, nice, and just right for our group. The creek is a very long hike down and very strenuous hike back up, but we did it! This was my first time using VRBO to rent a place and Joyce made the experience great!

This property is amazing! I cannot be around chemicals or any type of tobacco smoke because of migraines. This property is TRULY secluded- and gorgeous in every way! Joyce was willing to help us, although everything was set up so well we didn’t need to give her a call. But we wouldn’t have hesitated to reach out. Besides being gorgeous, we loved the short hike to the creek (it was a good one for us Floridians who needed to use leg muscles we didn’t know we had!!) the picnic table was great, we took some fun pictures and enjoyed the pool table and Yahtzee! Our teens had a blast - loved the downstairs and the loft! So fun! Our daughter had online exams and was able to do her studies downstairs without distraction and she had no problems with the WiFi. A binder is available with fun activities and a map! The porch! My favorite place in the world! You just have to see it to understand the peace and tranquility waiting there for you. Everything was clean and cozy, we felt right at home. All the “things” are there. Extra TP if needed, towels, hair dryer, washer & dryer, coffee maker- it even has a fancy side for those who make bougie coffees. This cabin is a must see! If we stay in this area again (which we hope to!) there will be no hesitation - we’ll be coming back here! :)Thank you!!

Perfect Remote Place

We enjoyed our stay and when back in the Mineral Bluff area, will stay again. My grandchildren especially enjoyed hiking to the creek. The house was beautifully furnished, clean and quiet.

We built this cabin in the woods to be both away from the hustle and bustle of city life and near all the things we love to do including hiking, horseback riding, nature photography and just enjoying the great outdoors.
