About this property

Nero's Point Lake Martin Home

This home was thoughtfully designed to showcase the stunning views of Lake Martin and the surrounding woods while providing exceptional privacy from neighboring homes during the summer months. The expansive great room spans approximately 20' x 38' extending from the kitchen at one end to a fireplace at the other. The open floor plan is ideal for family gatherings. A 24‑foot vaulted ceiling with stained wood beams stretches across the width of the house, The A‑frame wall facing the lake features floor‑to‑ceiling windows and sliding glass doors, offering breathtaking views of the lake, trees, and sky.

The kitchen is fully equipped for your stay. The coffee maker accommodates both K‑cups and a traditional carafe (round filters required).

This three‑bedroom, two‑bath home comfortably sleeps nine guests. The master suite includes a king bed and private bath. The second bedroom features a king bed and one twin bed, while the third bedroom offers two twin beds. The second bathroom is conveniently located between these two bedrooms. Additional sleeping options in the loft include a queen sleeper sofa, one youth bed, A queen Aero Bed is available -stored in the laundry room allowing for a maximum occupancy of 12. A pack‑n‑play is also available.

The loft (29' x 14') includes a ping‑pong table and a 65" smart TV viewing area. Wireless internet is provided.
The laundry room, equipped with a washer and dryer, is located in a separate room at one end of the loft. At the opposite end, you’ll find two sofas and a TV; one sofa converts into a queen sleeper. Please note that while a wall blocks the view of the sofa from the great room, the loft remains an open space. (See photos.)

We have equipped the rental property with two smart TVs, each fitted with an Amazon Firestick. To use your personal streaming accounts, you can use the 'Guest Connect' feature on the Firestick, which will sign you out automatically after your stay. If you prefer, you are also welcome to bring your own Firestick or Roku device to connect to the TVs. Just remember to reconnect the owners’ firestick device and take your device with you when you leave.

Outdoor living is enhanced by a large deck across the front of the home and smaller covered decks on both sides. The main deck includes perimeter seating, a dining table with six chairs, four Adirondack chairs, and a gas grill. Gates are installed on the side decks and at the top of the stairs leading to the lake to help keep children and pets safely contained. (See photos.)

A spacious pier at the end of the boardwalk offers deep water on one side for mooring boats, while the opposite side features shallow water ideal for children to swim and play. A floating dock provides easy access to watercraft during full pool and as water levels gradually lower in the fall. During full pool, there is space for docking for 2-3 boats or jet skis. From late fall through early spring, lower water levels may prevent boat docking.

The home is conveniently located within approximately 35–40 miles of military bases in Montgomery, Auburn University for football games, and the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail in Prattville. By car or boat, guests can easily reach Catherine’s Market, SpringHouse Restaurant, and numerous other dining options located at marinas around the lake. Seasonal concerts and fourth of July fireworks are also accessible by boat or car.

Lake Martin Security patrols the area and can be contacted for any security concerns. They also respond to the home’s alarm system if activated. Additional security features include an alarm system and three exterior Ring cameras: one motion‑activated camera at the deck entry, one at the front door, and one near the kitchen door facing the lake. There are no cameras inside the home. The alarm system includes window and door sensors and is monitored by Ring Security. Instructions for arming and disarming the system, as well as self‑entry instructions, will be provided. Keys are available in a lockbox.

This is a pet friendly home with a small fee for one or two pets.

This home has been on the rental market since 2009 and has consistently received excellent ratings. For the past seven years, we were fortunate to have several long‑term renters, all of whom moved on after purchasing their own lake homes. We are now pleased to offer the property once again for short‑term rentals.

We absolutely loved our stay at this lake house! It was spacious, spotless, and had everything we needed for a relaxing week. Getting there was easy, and the shallow water right off the deck was perfect for enjoying the lake anytime. We also appreciated that we could bring our small dog. The side gates on the deck made it feel safe and secure for him to roam outside with us. We had no problems docking our tritoon on the deeper water side of the dock. Our daughter especially loved the upstairs hangout area and enjoyed playing ping pong. We stayed for the Fourth of July and had an amazing week making memories. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable, family friendly lake getaway!

Rebecca was fabulous from the get-go with communication. The listing is accurate, everything you would expect from the details given and more. (You really have to experience the deck area to appreciate it, it’s peaceful, comfortable and room for everyone!) The ping pong table and the games provided were a hit. We would love to visit again on the future.

Mrs. Rebecca was such a great host! More than helpful! 100/100! Quiet, very secluded little area free of any traffic on the water! This was perfect for families with kids of all ages. The sleeping arrangements were perfect. More than enough space upstairs for the kids to play and have their own space. The deck space is better in person - perfect sitting area for an evening meal or two game night. The deck has a high and low side- we setup all of our blowup toys in the lake and we were able to bring our boat and jet ski. The boat launch is about 7min away and once on the water about 8 min to the dock connected to the house. Fresh linens- all the necessary items to cook. We didn’t bring dogs, but the deck and porches have built in fences with lock doors to secure a huge area for animals or small kids while hanging out on the deck. The water was perfect. Very green, and clean. About a 10 min boat ride to chimney rock and the light house. Lots of games, puzzles, ping pong table- kids were never bored. Overall one of the best places we have stayed at on Lake Martin.

Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We’re thrilled to hear that your family enjoyed the quiet, secluded setting and all the space the house offers for kids to play and relax. I’m glad the deck, fenced areas, and lake access worked so well for your group — and that the toys, games, and ping‑pong kept everyone entertained. It means a lot to hear that our home was one of your favorite stays on Lake Martin. You were a pleasure to host, and we’d love to welcome you back anytime.

Better than pictures

Pictures do not do this justice! We spent most of our time on the front deck or in the water by the pier. Really nice that the house is at the end of a cul-de-sac with no boat traffic. Perfect for children or dogs! One side of the pier is shallow with the other side being deep for a boat. We put our beach chairs in the shallow side and let the dogs have a blast and when they tired they rested by us. Pier has 4 different sets of stairs from the water so easy in and out. Rented a pontoon boat from Real Lake Marina; it’s a 20 minute drive but only a 3 minute ride in the boat. On the final day, we offered one of the guys at the marina a nice tip to return the boat, saving us the 20 minute car ride. Other option might be Kowilga Marina, closer car ride but longer boat ride. We visited all the restaurants by boat for lunch and dinner. Check out Chimney Rock (2 of mine dove off the highest point, yikes!). Baby/dog gates are perfect as they cannot get out of the large deck. Rebecca wonderful to deal with; she put a TV on the main floor at our request and we spent most indoor time there since it was a football weekend. Will definitely return; great house, location and experience!:

What are you waiting for?

Book now before someone else does!! This house is amazing! Three families met here for a wonderful trip down memory lane for my husband and two of his cousins. They used to visit their grandparents home on the lake in the summer and had not been back in many years. The house has an amazing view of the lake and is so peaceful. The kitchen had everything you need to make a lovely dinner. There is plenty of seating and sleeping areas. It is well kept and was very clean and fresh smelling upon our arrival. The upstairs loft gave our teens and tweens a place to hang out when not out tubing or kayaking. The only problem we encountered was that no one wanted to leave!!

Amazing Home for a family vacation!!

Our stay in this house was amazing. Home is spacious, super clean and very comfortable!! We had everything we needed to enjoy our stay with family and grandkids. Owner is beyond amazing and so helpful with questions. Kids were able to swim off the dock and plenty of room to dock the boat and hang out. Beautiful home.

Our family had a great time at the lake. We like to cook and this was by far the best stocked kitchen we have found in a vacation rental. Owner was attentive and immediately available by phone when we had a question upon arrival. We enjoyed the table tennis very much. Plenty of sleeping space in this home as well. We are sure to return to this lake house again!

Fantastic

My family and I stayed there for a week, as a mini vacation, leading up to my wife's and I wedding day. The house was clean, fully stocked kitchen (minus food of course), great appliances, plenty of parking for being tucked in the woods. The back porch and deck was all fantastic. All my nieces and all my family had a blast swimming off the dock. The water was wonderful. The house water access is tucked away very quiet slew. We enjoyed every minute of it. No need to go out to eat when you have all you need to cook there. The gas grill outside worked great. I did bring my own charcoal grill though; only used it once. I would definitely recommend this place to any one with probably no more than 3 adult couples; the amount of kids with them don't matter since they can sleep wherever. There were plenty of extra air mattresses and sheets upstairs. We brought our own because we didn't know they were there. Plenty of towels available but still bring a few of your own. Be ready to do laundry if you have a crowd. Good washer and dryer upstairs. EXCELLENT PLACE & GREAT MEMORIES!

Perfect family Thanksgiving

This was our first time staying in this home and we found it to be everything we were looking for. We rented it for the entire Thanksgiving week and were joined by our grown children for some relaxation and stress-relief. The home is very comfortable and the space is laid out well. It was cold enough for a fire in the fireplace the first night and the owner had plenty of firewood we could use.. We used the gas grill a couple of times and the propane tank seemed full. The beds were quite comfortable and all of the rooms were sparkling clean. We cooked in for all of our meals with the exception of a carry-out lunch from Catherine's Market one day, and the kitchen had plenty of workspace, cabinet and pantry space. I did a full Thanksgiving feast and the double ovens were a wonderful help. Although chilly outside, it was sunny and we did alot of hiking and walking with our dogs. The dogs also enjoyed swimming in the lake, just not the freezing hose down they got afterwards! We particularly liked the large deck and the Adirondack chairs with such a great view of the lake. The only thing that we could have used was a TV downstairs. This wouldn't have even been an issue during warmer months with boating and skiing activities available, but we spent a good bit of time up in the loft watching football games. it is a nice TV spot up there but a little crowded when we were all gathered around watching the Iron Bowl. All in all, we had a wonderful family vacation. The owner was great and easy to contact. She kept in touch by email, text and phone and her instructions were simple to follow. I would recommend this home to anyone and expect that we might be renting it again ourselves.

About the host

Host profile image
Our family and friends have enjoyed the beauty of Lake Martin for many years. We have always had dogs and they, too, love the lake. Since our children are grown and have moved away we decided to share our home.

Why they chose this property

We purchased this vacation home because after traveling to the lake with friends, we were captivated by the beauty of the area. The lake was close to our home in Montgomery; the setting is rural; but an easy drive to Birmingham, Alexander City, Auburn and even Atlanta. The lake is large and pristine and while it has grown in popularity over the years; however, it is not overcrowded. There are plenty of good restaurants within 5 to 10 minutes; and you do not have to deal with the over crowded roads of the beach.

What makes this property unique

The location of the home makes you feel secluded as the house is surrounded on three sides by woods while the front faces the lake. Yet, there are many attractions and restaurants nearby-either by land or water. A unique area, The Crossroads, boasts a fabulous grocery, Catherine's Market, with a fresh meat department as well as unique grocery items and deli. In addition, an equestrian center with horses available for rent is also located there. For those who are interested in fine dining Springhouse Restaurant is fabulous. Boats are also available for rental at a nearby marina.
