Very nice historical home converted into apartments. Rooms were spacious, comfortable and welcoming. Conveniently located near restaurants, beach, and marina. be aware unit is on second floor accessed by outside stairs. Also shower is in a clawfoot tub, long step up and over to get in and out.
We highly recommend staying here! We came to Galveston for our daughters Nationals Dance Competition. Upon arrival into Galveston, our original property we rented ended up being a scam that needed to be condemned. We were left with having to rush to find something else last minute, late at night. Grabbed a sketchy hotel for the night and started our search for another VRBO. Luckily, we found this cute little place! We reached out to the hosts around 11:30 PM. The hosts, Justin & Lindsey immediately communicated with us with open arms! After letting them know our situation, we asked if there was possibility for an early check-in. These sweet souls had the place ready at 8:00 AM for us the next morning! We arrived to a charming 1800's house that has been converted into little apartments. This adorable rental has original charm with modern amenities. Very clean kitchen, bathroom and bedroom. We loved the claw foot tub and original fireplace! It was perfect for the 3 of us to stay for a few days. There is a cute French bakery that is only a 1 minute walk from the apartment called, Bleu Sucré. The French owners are so welcoming. We walked there every morning and grabbed a delicious coffee and a fresh pastry before heading off to the dance competition. They have amazing croissants and fresh baguettes! There is also a great restaurant a few minutes away that is at the marina called, Reel Nauti. Rooftop seating, great food, live music, and great service!Book this cute apartment!
The property was very clean and the hosts Justin and Lindsey Surrette were very accommodating. I left my purse and didn't realize it until the next day. I called Lindsey and Justin and they made arrangements for me to pick it up. They were willing to ship it to me on Monday but my husband and I decided to drive back to Galveston and have dinner. Thank you Justin and Lindsey for your kindness and prompt attention to my needs. We will be booking again the next time we stay in Galveston.
This unit is a bit old, but also charming. Easy access, easy parking, and actually walkable to several of the best places to eat and drink. You can walk to Shykatz, Sunflower, MOD Coffee, and the Strand, all about a half mile away. The bed was great, and we had a great time.
The following are not issues, just meant to help you plan:
1.) this is actually an upstairs apartment, not the entire house, so make sure your party can handle two flights of steep stairs.
2.) the shower is in a claw-foot bathtub, and is quite a step to get in and out.
3.) if you plan on extensive cooking, bring your tools, they only have the basics.
4.) there is a hose in the back shared patio. we brought our dog so that came in handy.
