This is the second time I’ve stayed in this unit and hopefully it won’t be the last. It’s a beautiful space in a great little town with amazing restaurants. The hosts, as usual, were very communicative and helpful. Couldn’t ask for anything more!

We really enjoyed our stay. We have so much family in IL - it was nice to have dinner with a few of them right at our 'home' away from home and not eat out every night. Make sure everyone knows there are a LOT of stairs - so that everyone from the toddler to the 94 yr old that visits knows they are going to 'climb'... :)

We were in town for two granddaughters high school graduations and stayed eight days at the Kildahl House. It is an amazing place to stay with comforts of home. Furnishings were tastefully done, climate easily controlled and the bed was so comfortable. We will be staying here again!

This is the second time we’ve been blessed to stay at Kildahl house for family events. Its an absolutely charming place, do well located by the River and restaurants. I rarely use the word, “curated”, but it fits these beautiful apartments. Every detail was obviously hand picked and hand place; modern in amenities, but still warm and cozy! I have family member who live close by who now want to come and enjoy a weekend here because they were so impressed. The units are beautifully maintained, the communication extremely clear, and the owners are always kind and accommodating!

What's old is NEW...

My wife and I planned a last-minute and much-needed getaway. To our surprise, we found this GREAT PROPERTY in our backyard! The rustic old house was remolded to a nice modern look. We are very familiar with the area and the town that this home is in, but we never knew that the town itself offered such very nice lodging, or lodging in general. There are hotels available outside of this downtown area, but you need to drive 15-30 minutes away. This property being in the middle of the downtown area is perfect. Every bit of the owners' description of their property is spot on. The place was very clean, roomy, and accommodating to our weekend getaway needs. There are plenty of spots to go eat and drink. Some good entertainment, if you are lucky like we were, the local theater was hosting a great concert celebrating great music from the 90s. All of this was within walking distance from the house. Excellent communication with the owners from start to finish. My wife and I enjoyed it so much that are looking to plan another trip there with our extended family and rent the whole house out. I highly recommend staying here for anyone looking to get away for a nice weekend or longer stay.

Thank you so much for your thoughtful and detailed review. We’re delighted to hear Kildahl House provided such a memorable getaway for you both, especially so close to home. One of our favorite things is hearing from guests who discover just how much downtown West Dundee has to offer once they’re able to slow down and enjoy it on foot. It’s wonderful to know the house, the walkable location, and the local restaurants and entertainment all came together to create such an enjoyable stay. We truly appreciate your kind words about the space and our communication throughout your visit. We would absolutely love to welcome you and your extended family back for another stay in the future.
