Royal James upper unit, sleeps 6 with loft + 2 Golf Carts & Pool, close to beach. This 2nd story condominium, located in the heart of BHI’s maritime forest, has been recently remodeled, newly furnished and beautifully decorated. BHI Club available, Golf available (extra fee).

Property highlights:
• Centrally located on the island, making it minutes away from the beaches, Clubs, golf course, bars, restaurants, grocery stores, BHI Conservancy Center, shopping, the marina, 3 salt water tidal creeks, and more!
• Well-equipped kitchen with full-size appliances and full cookware
• Comfortable dining and living room spaces with plenty of seating
• 2 full bathrooms (1 walk-in shower / 1 shower/tub combo)
• Sleeps 6 guests. The master bedroom has a King size bed, the second bedroom has a Queen size bed and there are 2 Twin beds in the loft.
• 2 fully furnished balconies for you to enjoy the beautiful outdoors. One overlooks BHI Club golf course hole #14 and lake, and the other overlooks the community pool open to all Royal James’ guests.
• All bed, bath, and pool/beach linens are included.
• Two golf carts are included: two 4-seater carts. Lithium ion batteries
• BHI Club Guest memberships are available and sold separately.
*Note* All Guest Memberships are purchased directly from the Club and often sell out quickly during the summer and holidays. We recommend you purchase your Guest Memberships as soon as your vacation rental reservation is confirmed. Property owners cannot answer any Club questions or purchase the memberships for you. Our family of 4 felt right at home in this cozy home. The top floor views of the fern covered tree tops, great sun deck, cozy beds, modern kitchen and furnishings were fully enjoyed. Hosts were easy to communicate with throughout our 7 night stay. Easy golf cart ride or bike ride (great bikes) to the beaches. Would love to return!

With a wonderful time staying at the Mariners retreat! Location was great. The place was clean and comfortable. The kitchen facilities were very complete. Nearby beach was very convenient plus wildlife overlooks and nature walks nearby. Also two golf carts provided which was a great way to get around the island! Definitely would stay here again.

Fully equipped and immaculately clean. Great location, teenagers were easily able to ride bikes to the club, lighthouse and the market. Everyone enjoyed the pool which gets maintenance DAILY. Ibis walking around, gorgeous live oak. Was a little worried it would be buggy but didn't get bit at all when enjoying the porch. Royal James is the best kept secret on BHI.

Great stay at the Royal James!

Our family had a great time at the Royal James. The condo had a well stocked kitchen with upgrades to everything. The space of the condo was exactly as listed. We had a hiccup with one of the carts but the owners were very responsive and got us back up and running in no time. The loft can get a bit warm but with a fan running 24/7 it’s not too bad…especially in the evening.

I can honestly say, sharing our mutual love for Bald Head Island, created an instant bonding moment for us! You see, Ben and I met in Raleigh, NC in May of 2016. On our first date, he told me he was currently a full-time resident of Bald Head Island and came to Raleigh on a regular basis for his business. He then explained he had been a property owner on the island since the mid-90's. I, too, explained I had spent time on the Island in the 90's, as a nanny for a family from Chapel Hill. Even in Raleigh, the Island was working her magic! Because two years later, I also became a full-time resident of BHI and have developed the most amazing groups of friendships imaginable! BHI people are so special! We lived on Island until early 2022, when our plans to spend more time in Florida began to take shape. We decided to sell our house and buy this Royal James Condo. Now we can still come to the Island to spend time with our friends and we have the unique opportunity to share the magic of Bald Head Island with others!

We love the maritime forrest and love the fact that our home is surrounded by live oaks.

What makes this property unique

Our property is nicely renovated and well maintained. It is an upper unit with a loft with two twin beds and better views than the lower units.

We have well furnished decks/balconies off both main floor bedrooms. The front balcony overlooks the pool and has seating for four.

The rear balcony overlooks the golf course and a pond. It has a table with 4 chairs and an umbrella and two lounge chairs. It is a great place for al fresco dining among the live oaks. You can watch the ibis flying over every evening coming in to roost at the Wildlife Overlook, which is about 1/4 mile away.

We offer two golf carts (Most Royal James condos have 1) allowing your party more flexibility to move about the island.
