About this property
Bluejay's Nest-Lux Camping Tent in the Gorge️
Summary:
**Brand new tent and furniture!** Nestled right in Red River Gorge Kentucky, this tent has been newly remodeled specifically to make camping feel luxurious, easy, and relaxing! Our cozy glamping tents are thick enough to ensure that you stay nice and cozy, but allow light to diffuse throughout the whole tent.
Our goal is to make outdoor retreats accessible to as many folks as possible - we'd love to host you.
The Space:
Surrounded by over 50 acres of national forest, including countless onsite activities and local attractions, you’ll be able to enjoy all of the adventure you want during the day and return to comfortable, cozy lodging at night.
🏕 Important: Towels are NOT provided at this time
Tent #5 (Bluejay) Ease-of-access Notes:
- This tent pairs incredibly well with The Green Heron's Nest (A queen and twin bed) right next door!
- The Bluejay is a very short walk from the bathhouse. All you have to do is take a short walk and cross the driveway!
- We estimate the walk to take 30 to 45 seconds
This space includes:
- Brand new tent and furniture
- 1 Queen Bed
- 1 Twin Bed
- Gas Fireplace
- Privacy Flaps
- Private sitting area
- Cots Available (must bring your own pillows and blanket)
- Large 65qt Cooler (must bring your own ice)
Additional amenities include:
- Private Front Porch
- Canopy Views
- Private Fire Pit (firewood provided)
- On-site Bathhouse (with toilet, sink, and hot shower)
- Outdoor Charcoal Grill
- Outdoor Nets to climb/play on
- Outdoor Water Spigot (for drinking water)
Camping in Red River Gorge has never been so easy, luxurious, OR cozy! If you're hoping for a unique, incredibly cool stay, visit and see all that our 50-acre woods have to offer!
** Our tents are semi-off-grid, which means no plumbing or water inside, however, there is electricity, heating, lights, and water from an outdoor spigot. We also have a fully on-grid bathhouse with septic, electricity, and instant hot water**
The Neighborhood:
On most of the 50 acres, you won't see anything man-made. This creates a fully immersive experience for you. Also, you’ll be on privately owned property with designated hiking trails (map included); please hike, explore, and allow yourself to be free!
* There are other guests that you’ll be sharing the 50 acres with, so don’t free yourself completely, if you know what we mean *
The property also has tons of natural features. The tents sit atop a giant horseshoe of cliff-edges; as you explore, you’ll find sweeping, scenic views of our valley, a waterfall, natural rock overhangs, creeks, and acres more of wildlife!
If you need to get off-property and want to do some fun, local activities, we’re within minutes of local attractions like world-class climbing and hiking, ziplining, underground kayaking (yeah, you heard us), horseback riding, and so many more things! Not to mention all of the wonderful local restaurants you can visit -- don’t worry, we’ve sampled them all and have listed our top 5 in the guestbook and on our website.
If you aren't familiar with Red River Gorge and the surrounding areas, don’t worry -- we'll send you a list of our favorite off-site activities. We want your time away to be extraordinary!

About the host

Our busy lives wear us down over time.
Getting outside helps us rest, recharge and re-engage.
-
In 2021, we converted our 50-acre family property into a space where we could live out the above values.
Our family has always been in the business of loving the outdoors.
For us, some of the best memories have been made while drenched in nature - more specifically, drenched in the nature of Zoe, Kentucky, a place we know you’ll soon fall in with.
For over 15 years, we’ve joyously ridden, adventured, and hiked these 50 acres, letting no one but family and close friends visit. This land has been a haven for us; a place where we can simplify our daily rhythms by cutting away variables in our lives that distract and being present with the people and things right in front of us: the people we love, freshly prepared food, and the wildlife that exists right beyond our city-peripheral.
As a family, we’ve found experiences that involved moving together, working together, and adventuring together to be some of the most impactful and gratifying in our lives.
We want you to be able to have those experiences. All you have to do is show up with an open mind, ready to be rejuvenated.
We look forward to hosting you soon,
The Dappled Light Team
