Thank you!! We love having people stay at the resort in the off season! Come back in the summer and enjoy the green grass, fantastic beach and live the lake life!
We we're impressed by the amenities and cleanliness of our cabin. We had a lovely view of Houghton lake from the cabin. Very rustic log cabin feeling you'd expect and love. Heater in the living room also kept the place cozy and extra blankets are provided. we hope to come back in the summer to enjoy the outdoor activities they offer.

Fishing weekend
My son & I stayed in Beaver Cabin. It was clean and had all the starter amenities as described. This was our second time staying there and renting a boat.
Was exactly as described. Kayaks on site for use with small beach and water access. Dogs allowed so it made a quick last-minute stay perfect. Host on site to greet which was very nice. Only stayed one night but had everything we needed.
These adorable cabins are perfect for a girls weekend or a quick family trip. The view of Houghton Lake is amazing. The cabin is intimate in size but comfortable. The amenities provided were very thoughtful and the cabin was clean.
I will definitely be returning!
We decided last minute to get away for the weekend without the kids. This was a perfect little cabin for us and we took advantage of the kayaks on the lake. The owner/manager was very responsive and communicated wonderfully. We were pleased.

Wonderful
Quaint clean and cozy cottage! Wonderful grounds with great swimming. Gradually goes into deep end so a great swimming experience for little ones.
Jamie answered all my questions with kindness and friendliness!
We plan on booking for next summer!
Cute, clean cabins. Very convenient w/ most supplies already there. Loved that the beach, dock were right there& my son enjoyed the swing as well!
We had to cut trip short by a day & owner was kind enough to give us a credit to use at a later date. Highly recommend!😊
Cute little cabins on the lake with dock for our boat. Cabin has everything you need - just pack clothes and food and you are all set. Property is nice and room for parking trailer. Was great to get a one night rental so close to the water. Tom is great to work with and answers questions quickly.
First day was great weather was perfect fire that evening perfect location for star gazing and watching the Perseus Meteor shower . Second day Stormed day and night. Cabin seemed small TV didn’t work. Still a good stay overall

Excellent getaway
Everything was as advertised. Traveled with my parents and sister's family. We took up three cabins and we had the time of our lives. Fishing, shuffle board, grillouts, firepit...every day was filled with something to do. Surrounding neighbors were very friendly and we even got to meet the owner who is a peach of a guy as well. The lake is beautiful, albeit shallow, but we would definitely stay here again. Thanks for everything Tom!

It was alright.
I thought it was ok.very vintage. And simple but functional. Had everything we needed at the cabin. Just wondered why we paid for housekeeping when we had to strip beds take care of towels and take trash out?also walls were very thin. Could hear a pin drop when you would try to sleep. Some insulation maybe? Thankyou

The Smolinski family fell in love with the Whitetail Family Resort as soon as we saw it. The lake is incredible, peaceful and serene especially in North Bay where it is located. We bought the resort in 2021 with the goal of having a place that would give guests a place to make memories with their family and friends and hopefully bring a smile to their faces that will last a lifetime…just like the stories we’ve heard from guests that have been coming back year after year after year for decades.
It is formerly Morris’ Northernaire Resort in the 50’s where they used to raise bear cubs right here on the resort for guests to play with. It is amazing hearing the stories from past guests that have enjoyed staying here.
