Welcome to the "wasp season" from November to December and early spring! During chilly nights and early mornings, followed by warm days, wasps tend to gather on rooftops in search of warmth. While it doesn't necessarily mean there's a wasp nest in the house, they are essentially in hibernation mode, seeking cozy spots.
Generally, they won't bother you much, but we kindly ask you to keep the cabin doors and windows shut to prevent them from entering. Just a heads-up: there's wasp spray conveniently located under the kitchen sink in case you need it, but do not spray over the furniture!
Stay buzz-free and enjoy your time in the cabin!
Please note that this is a forested area and there are times when the Oklahoma Forestry Service enforces a burning ban in the area. Fines can be upwards of $1000. Please check online for the current burn ban status before using the outdoor firepit.

Peaceful Retreat at The Okie-A
We just returned from an amazing stay at The Okie-A, and it was exactly what we needed! The home was absolutely perfect for our family of six. It was spotlessly clean, spacious, and well-stocked with the items we needed. Between the hot tub, outdoor fireplace with television, swings, fire pit, cornhole, board games, and air hockey table, there were plenty of options for relaxation and fun. The kitchen was spacious and well-stocked with cooking supplies and appliances.
The home was in close proximity to Beaver Bend state park, where we hiked, fished, and zip lined. There were also plenty of nearby restaurant options.
We can’t wait to be back!
We will definitely be back! We enjoyed a rainy weekend here, loved all the windows! The cabin is cozy and comfortable, very clean. It has everything you need!
That’s awesome to hear! Looking forward to your next visit!

This property is great: location, floor plan/design, top notch furniture, and all the house items provided for kitchen, baths, bedrooms, outdoor spaces, TVs, games for kids, Jacuzzi...etc.
We also recommend visiting the Safari that is around 5 minutes drive from the cabin.

Beautiful Cabin, Great Location!
We stayed at The Okie-A for spring break and haven't stopped raving about it! Every detail of the cabin feels thoughtful and elevated, which adds to the overall experience. The location was perfect—peaceful and private, but still super convenient. Whether we were heading out for food, shopping, or exploring local spots, everything was just a short drive away. The host was super responsive and genuinely went above and beyond to make sure our stay was perfect. Highly recommend!
We used the cabin for our fall photoshoot for my boutique and had plenty of great photo ops inside and out. The cabin is clean, bright, decorated well, and the bed is so comfy!! The location is perfect too.
Absolutely BEAUTIFUL cabin! So cozy and clean. Great communication with the hosts! It was a great weekend to just unplug and relax! We will be back!

Thank you for the lovely feedback! We are so glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay and that you were able to create wonderful memories with three generations while fly fishing. It’s great to know that you found the home gorgeous and well-appointed, and that the comfortable beds added to your experience. We look forward to welcoming you back for more adventures!
We had a very nice stay, the location can't be beat. The property is so new that we felt like we were breaking the seal, so to speak. There's a fair amount of construction in the surrounding area, but over the weekend it was mostly peaceful.

Amazing Cabin
This is our second time to stay at the Okie-A! We absolutely love it. The cabin is beautiful. The views are absolutely incredible. The design of the A frame is so amazing and it’s perfectly decorated too. Our kids love the air hockey and corn hole. The lights around the perimeter of the yard made it so magical. We had such a wonderful time. We will be back again!
We’ve stayed in a lot of cabins around the area and this one is truly unique. The A frame style sets the cabin apart from the others. The owners have fully stocked the cabin and ready for any size group. Highly recommended.

CAN'T RECOMMEND ENOUGH!
I can't recommend The Oakie-A enough. We had an amazing stay! The home was clean, had great natural light and the design was chef's kiss! We went for a quick little birthday get-away and it was the perfect place to hang with the family and kids. The location was perfect and serene. The hosts were great with anything we needed during our stay. I can't wait to be back :)
We have stayed at several cabins in the area and this was one of our favorites. The property was very clean and the cabin was beautiful. The location is also not too far down the gravel roads so that was an added bonus for us. IYKYK.
Great communication with the host and the smores waiting for us was a wonderful treat. Highly recommend.

Cozy and gorgeous home away from home
The stay at Okie A met my expectations and more! The pictures were exactly as shown. The home was decorated so tastefully. The home was an A frame and every space was utilized to its full potential. The home decor was beautifully done and flowed from room to room! I would love to know their interior designer!
The downstairs bedrooms lead to an outside patio. Although the upstairs was not fully utilized as planned due to our guests unable to attend, I know they would have been extremely comfortable with the accommodations.
We were also left a sweet treat by the owners! I can’t say enough about this place but I think we have found our home away from home when we visit again! I have already recommended this home to my friends and family!

Okie A was A OK!
So many good things to say about this cabin!
The unique shape was so fun! The large windows made you feel like you were in the middle of the forest and we could enjoy its beauty while we were inside. It’s so clean! It smells clean and new. They’ve really thought of all your needs. The kitchen is well stocked with all the things you could need to cook. The beds and bedding are comfortable. The cabin was furnished so nicely and all the furniture, couches and chairs, were comfortable. It was rainy part of the time while we were there and we never got bored! They had plenty of board games and air hockey that kept us entertained and the kids loved having a tv in every room! Outside the cabin was great too! We enjoyed the hot tub, corn hole, swings and s’mores by the fire pit. We could tell that they spray for bugs, there weren’t any in the cabin. I appreciated the detailed guest guide they provide. They list what they already have at the cabin which was nice that I didn’t need to bring any thing extra. It was our first time to Broken Bow so it was nice to have their restaurant recommendations and places to rent kayaks and canoes from. We’ll definitely be staying here again!

Speechless
I am usually not a person who struggles to find words, but our time in Broken Bow/Hochatown, including our stay at Okie-A has me speechless; simply because all of the words that come to mind are not good enough. WOW. AMAZING. PERFECTION. These are words that describe everything about our vacation. This was my first vacation, in years, where I was able to disconnect completely and enjoy time with my family. I looked at over 50 cabins when researching where to stay. Some were too cabin-like, some were too big, some did not provide the most bang for your buck, and some did not provide the modern amenities I was looking for, until I found the Okie-A. The Oakie-A and surroundings are picture perfect. The hospitality and amenities provided by the hosts made our experience even better. I love to cook. The quality of dishes, pans, stemware, silverware, bakeware, etc. were top notch. We cooked. We baked. We played board games. We played air hockey. We soaked in the hot tub. Most importantly we created memories; memories that will live beyond the pictures.
I would not call myself a clean freak but I am always concerned about cleanliness when staying outside my home. The Oakie-A hosts take pride in their home and ensured it was thoroughly cleaned.
We traveled with 2 adults, a 12 year old boy and my 70 year old mother. The Oakie-A was perfect for all ages, providing space for privacy and breathtaking surroundings.
During our stay, we enjoyed a few local experiences such as the Tiki Boat Tour (The Broken Tiki), Ziplining through the trees (Rugaru Adventures) and speeding through the National Forest on a side-by-side UTV (Mountain Fork Rentals). All experiences were great and we would absolutely do them again.
There is not one negative comment I can say about our stay at Okie-A or even the adventures we had while there. Nick was very attentive and checked-in regularly. Thank you Nick.
We will be back. The Utmost Hosts have earned lifelong customers for their commitment to service. You can truly feel their hospitality the moment you walk in the door.

We had a great stay at this cabin. It was very clean when we arrived, which immediately made us feel comfortable and at home. The hosts were responsive and helpful throughout our stay, which made everything easy and stress-free.The location was perfect—close to everything we needed while still feeling peaceful and relaxing. The size of the cabin worked really well for our group of four adults and three kids, giving everyone enough space without feeling crowded. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything we could possibly need, which made cooking meals simple and convenient. Overall, this was a wonderful place to stay, and we would definitely come back again! Thank you Nick & Stacy for having us!
Our group loved our stay at Okie A! It was so cute and clean and fit our needs perfectly! We usually stay further north, but this location was so convenient to all of our favorite restaurants and other hot spots! Nick was great at checking in on us and making sure we had everything we needed!
