About the host
Hosted by John Saunders
I'm from Cornwall, taught art and work as an artist, enjoy doing creative things. Became a host more or less by accident and found I enjoyed meeting people from who knows where and sharing the house that my children grew up in.
I've been doing it for 20 years now. We enjoy sharing this area of France we fell in love with over 30 years ago

Why they chose this property
My wife an I discovered this area of the Minervois, fell in love with it and bought our holiday home here in Cesseras. This later became the family home when I retired, my children going to the local schools.
Being avid walkers in the peak district we loved the garigue, the limestone gorges, the quaint little villages, the remoteness. You can walk all day and meet noone. Beautiful scenery.

What makes this property unique
Approach to the gite is by a narrow cobbled street that goes around the chateau. We are in the walls at the back of the chateau. A vignerons family home from way back. We've tried to keep it's simple charm but renovating and updating the facilities. Lots of different levels, Lots of old staircases.
The kitch/dining room opens onto a sunny terrace that has seating for outdoor eating. There is a gas BBQ. The salon kooks out onto the terrace (TV, DVD, fibre internet/WiFi. )
One double bedroom (140 x 190) on this floor, stairs to bedroom 2 (2 x single beds 2x 90), stairs to double bedroom 3 ( 160 x 200)
Bathroom and separate WC
