About the host
Hosted by Jerry
Hi there! My family has been in Fort Myers for over 100 years. We are locals and we love this town and our breathtaking islands and beaches! 3335 Avocado Drive is a family home the owner’s father built in 1986 so he could live close to other family in the neighborhood. We have a lot of happy memories in The Avocado House and hope that you will too!
Why they chose this property
The Avocado House is located in a sought after historic neighborhood in downtown Fort Myers. Blocks from classic sunsets, a golf course and eclectic Downtown Fort Myers, you can’t beat the location. Everyone comes for the beaches and golf courses but don’t forget MLB Spring training Feb-March (our city hosts the Boston Red Sox and The Minnesota Twins at Jet Blue Park and Centurylink Stadium respectively), Everblades hockey, high end and outlet shopping, cultural events, museums, theater, 3 symphonies and our Edison Festival of Light Parade in February. We are 20-30 minutes from world class beaches and boating, 45 minutes from Naples, 2 hours to St. Petersburg and Tampa and 3 hours from Walt Disney World and Orlando sights. 1st and 3rd Friday nights join in on the monthly “Art Walk” and “Music Walk”, respectively, in downtown Fort Myers. Fun events with art, food, outdoor music and community. Bring your pet! Downtown hosts conventions and outdoor concerts at the new Caloosa Sound Convention Center and Amphitheater. If you’re into relaxation you can choose to sleep in, have a lazy breakfast in our eat-in kitchen, grab a book and chill out on the porch. Listening to all of the native song birds and the wind rustling the palm trees is a great way to spend a southwest Florida morning (days and evenings too!). There is something for everyone in our growing city. Can’t wait to host you at our “Avocado house”.
What makes this property unique
Our comfortable 2-story SW FLA home is filled with touches reminiscent of why we love this coast: seashells and beach scenes, outdoor furniture and comfortable beds to lay your head at the end of long day on the golf course or walking the beach. Local restaurants, golf course and downtown are within walking or biking distance. Beautiful, historic neighborhood where neighbors still greet each other on morning walks and generations have lived on the same street. We love it here and are happy to share it with our guests.
