A fire pit within the fenced backyard and the charm of sitting on the large front porch allows down time after a busy day of adventure shopping downtown or exploring the Civil War sites of The Carter House, Carnton or the African-American museum: McLemore House (just down the street.) Built in 1925 and renovated in 2018, the Harvey Ewing house sits in the center of Franklin’s historical Hard Bargain neighborhood and represents the success of an African-American family during the time of segregation.

You will appreciate the history of the house with all it’s modern conveniences and the quiet of this charming neighborhood so close to downtown and exclusive for you and your family to enjoy. LOVE THIS PLACE!

This home has so much character! It was clean, well stocked, the property was nice, and we loved the snack basket the host left us. The home was clean and fully stocked. Very very close to downtown Franklin. One thing I loved is that the only check out request was to load and start the dishwasher.. normally there is a whole long checklist, but this was simple and easy and SO much appreciated!! We will be staying here again!

Convenient

The house was super clean, cute and well decorated. It was very convenient to downtown Franklin. It was a bit cold while we were there, so we didn't walk into town, but we could've for sure! The neighborhood wasn't as cute as I would've hoped and I wasn't sure how safe it was to walk around particularly at night, but it was quiet.

Ray & Valencia are recently married older couple. Ray has lived in Franklin for almost 30 years - while Valencia moved from Chicago 7 years ago. Both are involved in this wonderful community and have many friends.

Why they chose this property

Valencia purchased and renovated the historical Harvey Ewing house (1925) in the Hard Bargain neighborhood because of it's close-knit families and cultural charm. It is also a short five blocks from the boutiques and eateries of Downtown Franklin.

Built in 1925 and renovated in 2017 - this house has two full baths and all the conveniences of modern living with the charm of a historical setting. A comfortable front porch and a fenced backyard with fire pit and lights - allows luxury inside and relaxation outdoors.
