About this property
Secluded, Mtn House w/ Mtn views, Creek Sounds, and hot tub
Welcome to Sunset Ridge. The home offers a beautiful, secluded setting that is perfectly situated to explore the Smokies. One guest described it as a "Nature Lovers' Paradise." It features three bedroom suites, a large porch with short-range mountain views, hot tub, outside fire pit, fully equipped kitchen, gas and charcoal grills, and wifi. It is well-situated between the lovely towns of Sylva, Cherokee, and Bryson City in close proximity to the Smoky Mountain National Park.
The house is nestled into the trees on the side of a ridgeline at 3,000 feet elevation. There are neighboring houses, but with large lots and lots of trees, it feels secluded and private. The only traffic on the road are the occupants of the other homes.
The main floor is the upper level. You'll ascend a wooden staircase to get there. You enter in the center of the house, which is the living area. There are two bedrooms on opposite sides of the floor with en suite baths. Each bedroom also has its own door to the porch. One bedroom has a queen bed. The other has a queen and twin beds. In between the two bedrooms is a large living/dining area, a well-stocked kitchen, and a laundry room with a half bath make up the rest of the main floor. There is a desk for those that need to get some work done.
The porch is large and has two swings, two rocking chairs, and a sitting area. As you sit on the porch, you'll enjoy a beautiful, short-range mountain view to the West. The ridge you will see in front of you is part of Sheepback Mountain. If you're there at sunset and twilight, you'll see the sunset colors over the ridge. You'll hear the wind blowing through the leaves and the sound of water in the creek down at the road. It's my favorite space of the house.
The ground level has a studio apartment with a queen and two twin size beds, a full bath, and a kitchenette. One of the twin beds is a roll-away. Please note there is no interior staircase adjoining the spaces. Access is via the wooden staircase outside.
On the deck outside of the ground floor unit, you'll find the hot tub. While the view is not as grand as the upstairs porch, it's still a nice view, and it's a lovely setting with the trees in front of you.
If you walk to the southside of the house, you'll find a fire pit with plenty of seating. You'll have trees on three sides of you, and the house on the other. You have privacy, but you can also see the short-range mountain views to the West.
