About this property
Chattanooga Suite | 5 Min Downtown | Tempurpedic | Standing Desk | 205 Mbps WiFi
Here's an expanded VRBO version:
OVERVIEW
5 minutes to downtown Chattanooga. 205 Mbps wifi, a height-adjustable standing desk, and a king Tempurpedic bed so you actually sleep well on the road.
This private suite has its own entrance, self check-in, and everything you need for a productive work trip or relaxing weekend getaway. Better than a hotel, more personal, and better value.
We're Ella and Matt, and we live upstairs. We travel constantly ourselves (we have a camper van) so we've stayed in a lot of Airbnbs and vacation rentals. We know what works and what doesn't. We built the Chatt Spot with all the things we'd want as guests: a bed that doesn't suck, wifi that actually works, a real workspace, and thoughtful details that make a difference.
WHO THIS SPACE IS PERFECT FOR
Business travelers: Standing desk, 205 Mbps wifi, quiet space to take calls, and a Tempurpedic so you're not exhausted for your meetings.
Remote workers: Everything you need to be productive. The wifi is fast and reliable, the desk adjusts from sitting to standing, and the neighborhood is quiet.
Couples: King bed, soaking tub, record player, OLED TV. A nice spot to unwind together without the sterile hotel vibe.
Solo travelers: Private entrance, self check-in, safe neighborhood. You'll have complete independence.
Wedding/event guests: Close to downtown venues, easy check-in, comfortable bed to crash in after a long night.
THE SPACE IN DETAIL
Living Area:
Walk in through your private side entrance and you're in an open living space. Big OLED TV mounted on the wall, plush couch, and a record player corner with ambient LED lighting. One button press turns on the whole vibe. We have a small vinyl collection, or bring your own records.
Bedroom:
Separate from the living area with a door for privacy. King Tempurpedic mattress (this is the real deal, not a knockoff). Blackout shades so you can sleep in. Quality linens. There's also a height-adjustable standing desk in here if you need to get work done. Note: there's a door to the backyard but it's for emergency exit only.
Bathroom:
Down the hall from the bedroom. Full soaking tub if you want to relax, plus a shower. Bidet seat toilet (once you try it, you won't go back). Soft towels, black makeup washcloths that don't stain, and we stock shampoo, conditioner, body wash, bar soap, and makeup remover cloths.
Coffee and Food Setup:
No full kitchen, but you'll have:
Nespresso machine with pods
Electric kettle for tea or oatmeal
Mini-fridge
Toaster
Filtered water
This setup works great for light breakfasts and coffee before heading out to explore. Chattanooga has an excellent food scene, so most guests prefer to eat out anyway.
Private Deck:
Right outside your entrance there's a small deck with chairs. Good spot for morning coffee or evening air. Ashtray provided if you smoke.
Parking:
The driveway is all yours. Pull right in. If your car sits low to the ground, you can also park at the top of the front yard to avoid the slope.

North Shore restaurants and shops are about 1-2 miles down the hill. You can walk if you want the exercise, or it's a 3-minute drive.

ABOUT US
My husband Matt and I moved to Chattanooga in 2022 after living all over the US. We fell in love with the rivers, mountains, and city and decided to put down roots here.
We travel a lot ourselves. We have a camper van and take long trips across the country whenever we can. Because of that, we've stayed in countless vacation rentals and know what makes a stay great: a comfortable bed, reliable wifi, thoughtful touches, and hosts who are available but not hovering.
We built the Chatt Spot with all of that in mind. This isn't a rental we've never seen. We live right upstairs and take care of the space ourselves. If something isn't right, we can fix it fast.
GOOD TO KNOW
We live upstairs with our two small dogs. You might occasionally hear them scamper around, but we're very conscious about keeping noise to a minimum. The suite is yours and you'll have complete privacy.
There's no full kitchen. If you need to cook full meals, this might not be the right fit. But if you're fine with coffee, light breakfasts, and eating out, you'll be all set.
The backyard door in the bedroom is for emergency exit only.
Self check-in is via keypad. You'll get the code and instructions before arrival.

Why they chose this property
We drove through Chattanooga after spending a month in Nashville, thinking that was going to be our new home. But we needed more accessible nature - so when we got to Chattanooga, we fell in love and within a week we started looking at houses.
What sold us: you can be downtown at a nice restaurant in 10 minutes, then be on a hiking trail 10 minutes after that. It's a real city with real outdoor access, not one or the other.
We picked North Shore specifically because of the views and the vibe. From our street you can see the river, the bridges, and downtown lit up at night. The neighborhood is quiet but you're not isolated. People walk their dogs, kids ride bikes, it feels like a community.
Stringers Ridge is right up the road, so we can do a quick hike without making it a whole production. When we want more, Lookout Mountain and the Tennessee River Gorge are 15-20 minutes away.
The food scene surprised us too. For a smaller city, there are legitimately good restaurants here, not just chains. And everything is easy to get to without traffic headaches.
Honestly, after living in bigger cities, Chattanooga felt like a cheat code. All the good parts, fewer of the annoying parts.

What makes this property unique
We've stayed in a lot of vacation rentals. Most have a terrible mattress, weak wifi, and a "workspace" that's a wobbly table in the corner. We built this space to be the opposite.
The bed is a real Tempurpedic king, not a budget mattress with a foam topper. You'll actually sleep well here, which sounds basic but it's surprisingly rare.
The wifi is 205 Mbps and we test it regularly. The standing desk is a real electric sit-stand desk, not a laptop tray. If you're working remotely or traveling for business, you can actually get things done.
The bathroom has a soaking tub, bidet seat, and good toiletries. We stock black makeup washcloths so you don't have to worry about ruining white towels.
Little things we added because we've wished other places had them: a one-button setup that turns on the TV and ambient lighting, a record player with actual vinyl, a Nespresso instead of a drip machine with stale coffee, filtered water, and a toaster and kettle for quick breakfasts.
It's a private suite with its own entrance, not a shared space or a room in someone's house where you feel like you're intruding. But we're upstairs if you need anything, so problems get fixed fast.
Better than a hotel. More personal than a big rental. That's the goal.
