Cost effective but you get what you pay for
The good: The host and resident family are very nice and responsive. Evidently, they are new to STLs. The price was reasonable as was the location.
The not so good: The listing suffers from many inaccuracies and the condition/functionality of the room & amenities was lacking. Some of the major issues: 1) The room/bath was not clean. Dirt & used bottles under the bed plus black mold stains in bath. 2) The listing showed A/C but there was no temp control in the room at all. I did receive a portable heat pump that I installed and had to maintain. 3) I was told there was off-street parking (also mentioned in listing) but got chased off. Street parking is terrible and I was actually boxed in one day so that I could not get my car out! 3) The internet/TV did not work when I arrived. Eventually, the service was enabled but the set-up is not intuitive. There were no instructions on how to use the internet or streaming service. 4) The house has rats, which I could hear rattling around in the wall. The owner seems to have attended to that problem. 5) Some other amenities were lacking, such as one of the two sheet sets provided was too small to fit the matrass. There is no chest of drawers to put your clothes in. The TV only faces the sofa - you have to move the entire stand that it's on into the room to watch TV from the bed. The listing mentioned in-room coffee but there was no coffee only the coffee maker. Only 1 set of keys & 1 set of towels were provided.
