About this property
The Green House- 8 mins to Mt. Rainier Nat'l Park!
Summary:
Welcome to The Green House at Mt. Rainier! Located in Ashford, just an 8 minute drive from the main Nisqually entrance of Mount Rainier National Park! You’ll be surrounded by majestic forests, clean air and blue skies! After a long day of exploring, hiking or snowshoeing, unwind in the hot tub under the stars or relax under the gazebo and listen to the sounds of nature!
IF you are looking for a place to party, this is not it as this is a quiet, residential neighborhood.
The Space:
Privately situated in the woods on approximately 2/3 of an acre, the cabin is nestled among the towering trees and lush foliage. Have your cameras ready as deer and other wildlife are frequent visitors!
The private outdoor space includes a luxury hot tub with ample seating and loads of therapeutic jets to soothe those tired muscles. Guests can socialize by the fire pit, cook on the wood pellet grill, or relax under the gazebo. Come to unplug and be enveloped by the towering trees and watch the deer walk by.
Inside, you will find a recently remodeled cabin, including a full kitchen well appointed with all the necessary cooking tools (pots, pans, baking dishes, utensils, dinnerware, some common spices, and oils) to cook your own meals. We also offer complimentary coffee, tea, creamers, sweeteners, and some other treats!
The full bathroom has a large walk-in shower, double sinks, and a wall heater (a guest favorite!!!). Shampoo, Conditioner and Body Wash are provided as well as a hairdryer and a few other toiletry items. Bath/hand towels and wash cloths are also provided for your convenience.
The living room has comfortable seating, a large 4K TV equipped with Roku guest mode so you can log into your favorite streaming apps that you use at home and not worry about remembering to log out as the system does this automatically at check out time, Blu-ray/DVD player (with huge movie collection), throw blankets, and a wood-burning stove (for warmth and possible romance!)
The large dining table has ample space and seating for your meals, family game night, or even as a work space.
The upstairs rec room offers additional common space and activities such as a retro Pac-Man arcade game, Blu-ray/DVD's, a Wii console, and board games.
The primary bedroom has access to the upstairs balcony for relaxing and taking in the beauty of the area while you have your morning coffee or evening beverages. Enjoy your deep sleep on the very comfortable hypo-allergenic queen mattress and sleep in to your heart's content with the light darkening window coverings. Bed linens are provided for all beds throughout the cabin.
The second bedroom is next to the primary bedroom and has the same comfortable queen mattress and window treatments.
The upstairs loft space is the third sleeping area and is equipped with two twin beds, so no need to draw straws on who sleeps on a lumpy, uncomfortable pull-out couch!
You will find a dedicated workspace in the back room with peek -a- boo windows to enjoy the forest while still being productive with any work tasks or calls. This room is able to be more private with doors to keep any distractions/noise to a minimum.
Guest Access:
Our entire cabin is accessible to guests with the exception of the locked outdoor storage room on the side of the house.
The Neighborhood:
Nestled, quiet community in the highly sought after Echo Valley, located just 8 minutes from the main Nisqually entrance to Mt. Rainier National Park. As this is a residential community PLEASE drive slowly and carefully as there are people out walking, children playing, and frequent wildlife on the road.
Getting Around:
Private parking at the cabin, EV charger available, recommend AWD or 4-wheel drive vehicle during winter months to get around the park. May need to carry snow chains to enter park Nov1-May 1. Please refer to the park information for details/recommendations as well as the need for making advanced Park reservations.
Other Things to Note:
We have added an under-sink, 3 stage water filtration system, so just fill up your water bottles using the dedicated faucet and hit the trails! No need to buy single- use water bottles or bulky jugs of water.
We have installed a Level 2 EV charger outlet (please bring your own charging cable as none are provided to avoid compatibility issues); this amenity is free for our guests only.
Sometimes, Mother Nature imposes her will which may result in loss of power to Ashford and the surrounding areas. To help during these unexpected and uncontrollable events, we provide a portable, battery powered generator to run basic items for your comfort (including the TV and Wifi for a limited time). The upstairs loft rec room has many board games located inside the ottoman and there are loads of books and DVD/Blu-ray movies.
Please note, there is a wood burning stove so you can stay warm and cozy regardless of what Mother Nature may throw our way. Additionally, there are battery-operated lanterns and flashlights provided for your safety.
Interaction with Guests:
We will be available throughout your stay and we do have a local support team available. Please be sure to read our Instruction Book in the cabin for details.

We are a husband and wife team just starting out on our short term rental journey. We have built a local team of experienced support services that are ready to serve our guests.
Why they chose this property
As nature lovers, we have always been drawn to the mountains and after visiting Mt. Rainier, we knew we wanted to have a cabin near the park so we could easily explore the natural beauty of Rainier. After completing many enhancements to the property, we thought why on earth would we keep it all to ourselves? And so we embarked on the path to share our home with with our guests! We can't wait for you to experience the awe-inspiring beauty of Mt. Rainier and the surrounding forest and relax in the tranquility of our little Green House!
What makes this property unique
When visiting Mt. Rainier National Park the first time, we had to wake up in the wee hours of the morning and drive 2 hours to the park to beat the long line of cars at the Nisqually entrance in order to get a parking spot at the Paradise Visitor's Center. At the Green House, we can sleep in a bit, have a home cooked breakfast, and make our way over to the park to beat the crowds, miss the hassle and benefit from more sleep for the hike of the day!
The property is private, quiet, and frequently visited by wildlife. The Green House has been fully remodeled and equipped with all the modern amenities such as a full kitchen, under-sink water filtration system to fill your bottles, 4k TV and free Wi-Fi, EV charging outlet (free to guests), and a state of the art hot tub to relax and luxuriate in after a day of hiking, photography, or whatever lured you to the mountains. Gather near the fire pit to talk about your day and unwind or sit under the gazebo with your beverage of choice.
Although many modern amenities are offered, we worked hard to maintain the rustic charm of our mountain cabin with thoughtful touches, including the cozy wood burning fire stove in the living room, throw blankets, comfy beds and some coffee and treats.
