Welcome to the Alan Ladd Estate—a private five-bedroom, six-bathroom retreat accommodating up to 10 guests in historic Old Las Palmas.

Designed by renowned modernist architect Donald Wexler, this former home of Hollywood actor Alan Ladd combines authentic mid-century architecture with spectacular San Jacinto Mountain views. The gated estate features a private pool, hot tub, cold plunge, outdoor soaking tub, cabana, fire features, a fully appointed chef’s kitchen and a Level 2 EV charger.

Three bedrooms have private en-suite bathrooms. The kitchen includes two sinks, two dishwashers, two ovens and Sub-Zero refrigeration. Selected for Modernism Week’s prestigious A Peek Behind the Hedges tour, the estate offers a rare combination of architectural pedigree, Hollywood history, privacy and modern wellness amenities.

Safety: The home is equipped with functioning smoke detectors, carbon-monoxide detectors, fire extinguishers and all required safety equipment. It undergoes the City of Palm Springs’ required annual vacation-rental safety inspection and maintains an active City certificate. Third-party platforms may occasionally omit or incorrectly display this information.

Reservation confirmation: Within seven days of booking, the primary guest must sign the rental agreement, provide a valid government-issued photo ID and submit either the required 50% deposit or, when applicable, payment in full. Until these items are received, the reservation is not fully confirmed. Incomplete reservations may be cancelled and the dates returned to the open market.

This is a quiet residential property—not a party or event house. Palm Springs prohibits outdoor amplified music, and all City vacation-rental rules apply.

We loved this home and would stay here again! Beautiful, resort-like pool area with lots of lounge chairs and umbrellas. The kitchen was massive and lots of cooks could be in there at the same time. The neighborhood is lovely and very quiet. Best weekend getaway ever!

We had a great week at this property. Spacious, well-appointed, and great location. Dave, the property manager was super helpful. My family loved the lemon, orange and grapefruit trees in the backyard. Also, with a large group the 2 refrigerators, washer/dryers and dishwashers came in very handy!

Beautiful house

We were a group of 9 staying to celebrate a birthday in Palm Springs. The property is historic and fabulous and was well located and incredibly well equipped. The kitchen had everything and then some. Management met us at check in and were friendly and welcoming, this was a relief as so much pre-stay communication on rules and guidelines was a little off putting. We had no issues during our stay and would love to go back.
