Wine Country Mountain Retreat

Conveniently located in picturesque Paris, Virginia, the Ashby Gap Retreat is less than an hour's drive from Washington, D.C. just steps away from the Appalachian Trail and a short drive to world-renowned wineries, breweries, restaurants, historic sites, coffee shops, one-of-a-kind boutiques, agritourism attractions, antique shops and much more. We cannot wait to welcome you to experience the beauty of the Virginia countryside.
The space
The newly renovated split-level home has been transformed into a bright and airy retreat, boasting a large open-concept kitchen and living space, beautifully decorated with local art and unique finds from antique shops in the local area. The living room features tons of natural light, a huge Belfort Furniture sectional sofa and a 65" smart TV. The well-appointed kitchen includes all of the cooking essentials, plus brand new stainless steel appliances, toaster, and a dual drip/single cup coffee maker and local coffee for you to enjoy each morning.

The one king and four queen guestrooms are complete with memory foam mattresses, Tempur-Pedic pillows and variable speed ceiling fans for individual guest comfort. Both full-size bathrooms offer luxurious bath linens, makeup mirrors, hair dryer and eco-friendly and non-toxic shampoo, conditioner and body wash. The upstairs bathroom has a great soaking tub, perfect to relax in after a long hike!

Enjoy the outdoor living space with panoramic mountainside views by day, then curl up with a blanket and enjoy peaceful stargazing by night. The outdoor living space is equipped with comfortable furniture and a charcoal grill (charcoal provided).

Other home highlights include brand new full-size washer and dryer with non-toxic laundry detergent, plus a pack 'n play and high chair available upon request. Non-toxic household and personal care items are available for your use, including hand soap, lotion, dish soap and household cleaner.

Upon booking, we will email you our digital locals guide that includes all of our favorite spots including local farm-to-table restaurants, coffee shops, scenic hiking trails, wineries, breweries, antiquing hidden gems, farmers markets, and much more!

The house is situated on a 10-acre parcel of land that is partially fenced. Feel free to roam the trails on the upper part of the property!
Guest access
Guests will have access to the entire home, excluding the garage and owner's closet.
Other things to note
The Ashby Gap Retreat is the perfect spot for respectful guests to relax and enjoy while exploring the surrounding area. We are not a good fit for those looking for a party house. While the home is situated on 10 acres, our neighbors homes are visible, so we ask that you please be mindful and respectful of them as well. We welcome birthday parties, baby showers, etc. Please inquire before booking!

Pet policy: We welcome well-behaved dogs. All dogs must stay off the furniture and we ask that your dog be crated while you are away from the home. A pet fee does apply.

While our pest control stays vigilant to keep the home pest-free, you may encounter bugs and wildlife throughout the property. We are located in the Virginia countryside, so you may experience a bit of nature!
