Our group of 7 adults had a fantastic overnight stay at Gooseneck Lodge. The huge deck overlooking the river was a favorite place to spend time visiting and listening to the river. A relaxing soak in the hot tub, followed by s'mores and hot dogs by the fire pit was the perfect end to the night. Our only regret was not having more time to stay!
Abbey was amazing with responding to all the questions i had. she answered with full detail & answered so quickly. House was very clean & it was great experience. i would definitely book again with Abbey & her property.
The home was even more beautiful than the photos, we had 4 adult couples and never felt like there wasn’t enough space or somewhere comfortable to sit! We absolutely loved our stay
Great home with all the amenities and the location couldn't have been more convenient. We loved the view of the Saco as we enjoyed the hot tub aprés skiing.
Had a wonderful, relaxing family vacation at this beautiful oversized A frame. Although the river access is very tough from the property, there are hundreds of miles of national forest along the river within foot steps of the property. Would recommend to anyone looking for a place to stay in the Conway region as it’s river sounds therapeutic and is so close to all local attractions (summer, fall or winter)
Great cabin vibes on the water! We had 7 girls come stay for the weekend and we all had a blast. The fire pit was awesome and convenient, and the large deck is perfect for groups to hang out outside. We only wish the water access had been easier, with the stairs not working it is quite the treacherous climb down using roots!
This is my 2nd time staying at this property. Spacious clean home with plenty of activities in the home and near everything. Quiet neighborhood, great communication from hosts. Large deck overlooking the Saco River. Our family spent most of our time on the porch grilling eating and spending quality time together. Looking forward to many vacations at this home!

The location of this property is truly beautiful, and we were excited for our stay. While there were a few maintenance concerns we noticed early on, we chose not to raise them during the weekend because we wanted to enjoy the trip and make the best of it.However, by the final night the situation became difficult to ignore due to a significant ladybug infestation. They were in the beds, flying around our room and kitchen and all over the rug dead and on ceilings and window, which made it very uncomfortable to sleep. At that point, I reached out to the property manager to make them aware of the issue. There were also some safety and maintenance concerns, including exposed wires in parts of the home and a non-functioning light in the upstairs bathroom. Additionally, the jacuzzi was not ready for use until late on our arrival day, which limited our ability to enjoy that amenity. The home’s décor and furnishings are quite dated, and combined with the maintenance issues, the property did not feel as well kept as expected.I’m sharing this feedback simply so future guests have accurate expectations. With some maintenance improvements, the home and its location could provide a much better experience.
Satisfied with our stay for the most part. The house is perfect for 2 families with 3 kids ages 5 and under. The location is great and within reach from many local attractions including Storyland/Santas Village.
A few downfalls to our rental. The listing mentions not to use the stairs/dock down to the river as it was damaged in the past and unsafe. Unfortunately with that being not accessible there is no other safe or easy way to get down to the river, especially with kids. We chose the house because of the location being right on the river and planned to spend some time fishing with our kids however we weren't able to get them down to the water so that was a bummer for all parties. We found a spot not far from the property that we drove to with easier access but we figured having young children it would be worth us paying more money for an expensive rental to be right on the river and that was a letdown.
When we were at Santas Village the house lost power, so when we returned the WIFI was down. The WIFI was never recovered after multiple attempts to reset as directed by the property manager. One of the adults works on Saturdays remotely so this caused another hiccup as they could no longer perform their work as planned.
During travels home/making a pit stop we realized that one of us had left a pair of muck boots at the property. We were going to be back in the area the next weekend so quickly messaged management to coordinate pick up and they still haven't responded.

Vacation
We do appreciate those who open their home so others can enjoy it. If the price was much less by about half I would not have such a negative comment. But the pictures shown were not accurate. The bathrooms are poorly constructed and have water damage. They look to be in the middle of construction. The lower level is not what the pictures show. It is under construction. There was construction material in the back yard. The sheets and towels were in fact clean but the shower curtains were full of mildew so we needed to wash them. The entire place smelled, had cobwebs everywhere, and the rugs were very dirty. Table cloth was stained.
The pots, pans, and silverware had food stuck to them and there is not a dish washer so the dishes were slimy. There was plenty of toilet paper but no dish soap. The hand soup was filled with water. So just remember you have to bring that when staying.
The Saco is in fact right out the back and is beautiful….but the stairs to the Saco are off limit and even if you could use them this year the Saco was so low that it was I’d say 6/7’ down so you really can only get there from the utility road. The property has much potential but it is not worth the money currently. Hopefully in the future they will fix some of the issues and it will be the property it could be.
