"Old Hickory" - Rustic and Charming Cabin, Close to Nashville. Couples Getaway

Spend your next getaway or family retreat in the 'Old Hickory Cabin', located just 1/2 mile west of the quaint village - Nashville, Indiana. Beautifully decorated and well appointed, you will find this cabin has everything you need for a relaxing stay. It's close enough to all the activities, shops and restaurants you want, but just far enough away for you to have the privacy you desire.

Old Hickory cabin sits on 4 wooded acres with a large deck in back that overlooks the woods (and hickory trees) and a small creek in the valley. You will feel like you're in a tree house with the views below. It's a great place to bird watch and spot the abundant wildlife.

Just inside the front door, to the left, you'll find the living room is one step up. It features a 2 story Brown County stone fireplace, cathedral ceilings, wide plank pine flooring with hand cut nails. You will immediately notice the french doors that open onto the deck. While you're relaxing inside, you will enjoy amenities such as Wi-Fi, a 43' flat screen smart TV, Roku with Hulu and Disney Plus, CD stereo and a couch that opens into a queen bed.

The entry, kitchen and bathroom are on the main level and have tiled floors. The entry has a large wonderful 'old hickory' style coat rack with a mirror.
The custom cabinets are unique and have tin inserts in the upper doors. The kitchen is well furnished with cooking and eating utensils. The full bathroom contains a tub/shower unit, single sink, toilet and plenty of storage.

The upstairs bedroom has great views too. A brand new (2022) memory foam mattress, 'old hickory' twig style headboard and handmade quilt add to the rustic charm of this cabin. You'll find the cabin is well thought out and the 1000 sq ft floor plan makes good use of the space. Old Hickory cabin is a wonderful relaxing place to get away from the real world, slow down and reconnect with yourself and loved ones. Be our guests!

Julie has always lived in Brown County and loves it! A former nurse, she has owned vacation rentals since 1993. She enjoys getting to know her guests, and is nearby to meet, greet and answer questions about local things to see and do. This is a family friendly cabin, and Julie tries to provide everything to make your stay the most enjoyable and relaxing getaway one can have.

Why they chose this property

This unfinished property was purchased in 1999 and completed in 2000. The 'Old Hickory Cabin' has been rented out to guests since completion. We strive to provide a vacation cabin that is very affordable, clean and well furnished. Our family wanted to create a home away from home feeling- one like we want to stay in when we vacation.
We hope you will find this cabin as pleasant and relaxing as we do. The location is great and very convenient too.

Birdwatching, wildlife viewing and relaxing are just a few of the things you can do at Old Hickory Cabin, or not...
Nearby, Brown County State Park has tons of outdoor recreation including; hiking, horseback riding, nearby zip lines and great mountain biking trails for the active - much to do!
And, of course, there is shopping in Nashville, antique stores and eating your way through Nashville's many restaurants. You can always take in an evening musical show or quality play put on by local acts and talents. WiFi is available for your convenience, and Roku TV with Hulu and Disney Plus for evening relaxation. The cabin offers a great home-base for all of the exciting things Brown County has to offer.
