Lovely spot

The apartment is charming and well appointed with all the comforts of home. We’ve been coming to the area for years and I think this may be the cutest apartment yet. Thank you!

Memorable Stay

The pictures don't do justice, everything in the apartment is top of the line. We took our lunches on the beautiful patio. The apartment is close to a breathtaking lake where we enjoyed swimming and fishing. The very picturesque Maine midcoast ocean is just minutes away, where we enjoyed walking and fishing. But the best of the stay are the hosts, so welcoming and always ready to assist us with any need. They even cooked lobsters for us!

Cozy Maine Apartment

Denny and Corey were wonderful hosts! They communicated regularly and sent me a handbook before we arrived on how everything worked and places to visit, places to eat and shop, etc. They also asked us over for wine after a couple of days to see how our vacation was going and also for farewell coffee and desert the night before we left. They have traveled a great deal and have wonderful stories to share. The apartment was cozy and had lots of great touches, e.g., coasters for drinks, thick fluffy towels, lots of bed pillows and lots of drinks in the fridge as well as coffee and snacks if we needed any after traveling all day. They bought croissants from a local bakery for our first morning breakfast. They also welcomed us with a few Maine products like blueberry jam and maple syrup which was a real surprise! It was a wonderful trip to Maine and we enjoyed our stay with them!

We are a retired couple. Denny led large engineering, procurement and construction for US Navy and power and gas utilities. Corey danced and taught classical ballet. We are world travelers. We love meeting new people.

Why they chose this property

Centrally located in mid-coast Maine. Enjoy all the Rockland, Rockport, Camden and Thomaston coastal corridor have to offer. There are lakes, hiking, beaches, boating, restaurants, even a mid-20th century main street theater. Do an easy car cruise to Belfast (1 hour north) or Bath (1 hour south) or Augusta (less than 1 hour west) or anywhere in between. Pack a picnic and walk onto the ferry for a round trip between Rockland and Vinalhaven Island or between Rockland and North Haven island for a very economical day on the ocean.

What makes this property unique

This apartment was added to our home in 2014 assuring modern code compliant construction. Your vacation home is a bespoke designed, self-contained residence. So, spaces like the bathroom and kitchen are really functional, not "shoe horned" into closets and old stairways. We are the owners and hosts. We reside in the front of the home. You will be met and welcomed as neighbors. This is not a remote managed, lifeless investment property. You are our guests. We are happy to chat with you - to answer your questions - when and as often as you like. Let us know if you want to do a shared cost lobster feast or other menu on the deck. This is not an impersonal space where you must (but can if you want) self check-in. We hosts provide a sense of context. We are truly your local advocates for your entire stay.
