Katie , a pleasure having you stay at the Grasslands Xiao & I truly appreciate all you did before heading home. Best of everything and please visit again. James
We loved the rental. I raised my kids in an older home, they loved the charm of the house and the easy walkability of Rockland. It was a successful vacation.
Great house close to everything in Rockland-Owls Head area
Place was really cute and clean and located just outside Rockland Center on the road to Owls Head. Very convenient. Great deck with a gas fire pit. Would definitely stay here again.

We wanted to be close to the Lobster Festival so it was a great location House was clean and had everything needed to prepare meals. An outdoor grill and nice deck. Very nice experience
The Rockland home was spotless. We were greated with a welcome note and flowers. The host and hostess were available to answer questions. The home is within walking distance to the harbor and town,
I highly reccomend a visit to Rockland and this location.
Property was vey nice. Bathroom upstairs should be updated to include a shower especially for large groups. Bathrooms smelled if windows did not remain open. Trees coming into property need to be cut back given it was extremely hard to safely exit the property to the left given you could not see oncoming traffic. However, in all it was very a enjoyable vacation.

Great having you Barbara we appreciate how tidy your left the home.. Jim has trimmed those trees back finally , I have been after him to take care of that, thanks for the prompt that’s all it took, the crazy thing was the vent to the second floor bathroom the pipe that that sticks out of the roof was somewhat blocked from pine needles from that same tree ! Slight order gone..we appreciate being made aware of all issues and like to hear suggestions on what we might add or do differently.Hope to see you next season. Xiao

Rockland Visit
The Rockland home was spotless and we were welcomed with a note and flowers from the host and hostess. The refrigerator was stocked with drinks that the we had requested. The host was available to answer any questions and provided us with information about restaurants and places to visit. The house is located within walking distance to the harbor and town. I highly recomend a vist to Rockland and this welcoming home.
The house is immaculate. Grounds are beautifully landscaped and maintained. Easy walking distance to downtown, harbour and all amenities.
There are stairs, which we are used to, but I mention it as some may have mobility issues. The house is 19th century, and it’s bones reflect this. It has been updated with modern touches, without destroying its essential character.

Great location but busy street noise
Although the location of this home was ideal to downtown, wharf, and restaurants, it’s in a very busy street which is noticeable when in the home. We tried to sleep with the windows open but the traffic was too loud so we had to resort to putting on the AC which was not ideal. The large trees that shield the front of the house also don’t allow light in the front of the house causing it to be dark and uninviting.
I think the owners should be upfront in the description of the home.
With that said, the home was comfortable and the few requests that we had during our stay were responded to quickly.
Great places to bike and walk to restaurants, downtown, wharf and museums.

Sue, we want all of our guests to rest easy when they stay with us, and we're sorry that you experienced some issues during your trip. We followed up with the homeowner after reading your feedback, and they wanted to share the following:
-We're sorry to hear about your level of discomfort during your stay. It is worth mentioning that we are located by one of the town's main roads. Unfortunately, it may be best to keep windows closed during late hours so that it does not disturb you when trying to sleep.
-We're glad to hear that you took advantage of the great location of the property. We hope you were able to enjoy your stay.
Thank you for your insight, and we hope to have the opportunity to host you again soon!
The home had all amenities necessary for a Maine vacation! Even had a power burner and pots.
Very clean home, great porch, great yard and just as described.
We had a great time walking to local establishments and the short drive to major attractions.
Thank you!
We enjoyed staying in this home - updated and decorated lovely, fairly close to downtown Rockland, and a great place to stage our adventures in the area. Extremely clean and thoughtfully stocked - it's a great getaway with a beautiful deck for some chilling out time. The owners were very responsive to our needs. While they weren't an issue for us, the stairs to the second floor are steep and could be a problem for anyone with mobility issues. Also, while we were there, the Wifi signal was next to nothing, so if you truly need a strong signal for work purposes (I know, you're supposed to be on vacation) - make sure you won't be disappointed with this. Otherwise, it's a special little home and a wonderful place to enjoy all that Rockland has to offer. Thanks, Jimmy & Xiao!
We had a lovely family vacation at this property. The house had everything we needed for days when we wanted to stay put….downtown was an easy 15 minute walk and lots to explore when we preferred to go out… a short drive to two state parks and only an hour to Boothbay to play at the Coastal Botanical Gardens. Although James and Xiao were easy to contact by text…Little contact was needed …Jimmy answered questions quickly…like any where right now we needed to be flexible with restaurants…we planned ahead …ate early…ordered take out in advance…and if the crowds were too large or staff overwhelmed we just ate in
