Beautiful South End home, 5 minute walk to downtown and beach!

Welcome to Rockland and Lamorna Cottage!
This 1880s home has been lovingly restored. The cottage offers a true getaway on a quiet South End street. It's a short walk to all Rockland has to offer - festivals, shopping, world-class museums, the water-front, several restaurants and the small public beach.
On the first floor, there is a Living Room with a sectional couch and chairs, a TV with internet hook-up and DVD player with an assortment of movies. There is also a large dining room with seating for 6, a gourmet fully-equipped kitchen with island, a 3/4 Bath (shower) and a laundry closet with full-size washer and dryer.
On the second floor, there are two bedrooms, one with a queen bed and the other with a queen bed and a twin. Both rooms have side tables, bureaus, table lamps and ceiling fans. There is also a full bath off the second floor hall with a deep soaking tub.
Off the kitchen is a deck with outdoor seating, a picnic table, gas grill and a small garden. The front yard is a sunny place to hang out on the Adirondack chairs.
The number of guests is limited to 4 plus up to 2 children (there is a pull-out bed in the Dining Room and a large couch in the Living Room). There are hardwood floors throughout.
There is free internet available and we are pet friendly. We charge $25 for each additional guest over 4 to cover linens and cleaning.

Load and start the dishwasher
Remove personal items, remove leftover food and drinks and take out the rubbish
Turn off the lights and lock the doors
Please be sure that all regular garbage is in closed bags.
Please run one load of sheets in the washer before you leave. This is a big help to the cleaner who has limited time before the next guests arrive.
If you have used the grill, please clean utensils and the grill.
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.
Absolutely no smoking.
Because this is a quiet neighborhood, please be respectful of our neighbors. Parties or loud music after 10 PM is not acceptable.
Please always park in the drive and not in front of the house. There should be room for up to 4 cars.

Lovely cottage home

Family of 4 (older teens) were very comfortable here. Plenty of space and great kitchen. Remodeled nicely! Easy walk to downtown and waterfront.

Wicked Pissah!

We are 4 teacher friends from SC that like to explore. The house was roomy, clean, nicely appointed, walkable and on a safe and quiet street. Any question we could possibly have was in a binder inside. The house was cute and updated nicely. The large kitchen was nice. We never felt crowded at all. We enjoyed Franklin Street as a home base as we explored the Maine coastline!

Wonderful home away from home

Absolutely terrific home - a phenomenally well designed and equipped large kitchen, perfect for casual or gourmet cooks; everything from shelves filled with books to cupboards with games at your fingertips; efficient and thoughtfully designed bathrooms; comfortable bedrooms; quiet location; all immaculate and spotless. Great Maine Location

We so enjoyed time spent at this bright & beautiful house from spinning records & sipping coffee in the morning while planning our day to catching up on our Netflix shows at night after a long day of sightseeing. The location is a great midway point for many Maine attractions — Acadia, Bar Harbor, Camden, Mt. Battie, Owl’s Nest Lighthouse, Marshall Point Lighthouse, Boothbay, Maine Botanical Gardens, Farnsworth Art Museum and more. FYI - fun food find was Moody’s Diner south of Rockland on Route 1. Thanks so much for great stay.

Wonderful stay at Lamorna Cottage!

This was our second summer staying at Lamorna Cottage. We absolutely love it. The house is adorable, clean, well-appointed, and conveniently located to everything on Main Street. Juli is wonderful and answers her messages very quickly-- she makes the process very easy. Needless to say we have already booked for next year! We are looking forward to another wonderful stay!

Perfect Maine getaway

If I could give this vacation home 6 stars I would! It is even better than it’s description and everything you could want. We stayed for an extended time and had everything we needed to make ourselves at home. The home is comfortable, well equipped and charming. There are plenty of books, puzzles, and dvds; comfortable chairs on the porch and in the yard; and downtown Rockland is just a short walk away. Perfect! And Juliann is super responsive all along the way - thanks!

IDAHO SPUDS IN MAINE.

Very clean, good location, very quiet. Didn't figure out the heating situation until the last day. One thermostat was Farenheit, the other must have been Celsius. We didn't freeze but the two thermostats need to be on the same page with each other for guests to understand. But we would stay there again in a heartbeat.

Spacious, cozy place to stay in Rockland

My family really enjoyed staying at this extremely clean, spacious and lovely house. Furniture and beds were very comfortable. 1st floor bathroom with walk-in shower was great for my parents. Nice touches and decor. Kitchen is like new. Easy walk to Main Street, museums, restaurants and shops as well as a Walgreens. Short drive to grocery stores. Owner was quick to respond, very friendly and helpful. We were sad to have to pack up and leave. Staying here made our trip so much more enjoyable than your average hotel room - highly recommend!!!

Cute, comfortable, clean Rockland Home

My husband and I enjoyed the home very much. The newly renovated house had updated amenities while keeping with the character of a Maine coast home. The owner was responsive, welcoming and well organized! She provided us with great restaurant information along with a binder that had information such as wifi info, tv info and things to do in the area. The location of the house was ideal. My husband and I were able to walk to town every morning for coffee and it was an easy ride to Camden, Rockport, and Owls Head for hikes and other activities. I highly recommend this house.

Beautiful House Close To Everything

My wife and I have stayed here before and loved it. This time we brought my in-laws and they loved it as much as we do. The house is beautiful and has everything you want or need. There is a modern kitchen, strong wifi, and a record player for you to chill out to on that cool rainy Maine day. The bathrooms are updated and comfortable. The living and bedrooms are homey and relaxing. All this and you are a 10 minute walk from almost everything you would want to do in Rockland. If you are planning a trip to the Rockland Maine area, you will not be disappointed staying here. The house is wonderful and close to everything. It is the perfect home away from from home.

Exactly As Pictured

The cottage was perfect for our family of five. We brought an air mattress for one of our children, but would have been fine without. Juli provides many fans since it was quite hot the week we were in ME. She also quickly responded to issues with the overhead light/fan in the master and upstairs hallway. Overall, was a great space and convenient location to restaurants, the harbor and other sights.

This house is amazing! The kitchen is beautiful and so well stocked. Fantastic layout with so much light coming in. Love the location, only a few blocks from the ocean with wonderful walking paths. It felt like home and we hated to leave.

This is the quintessential Maine home and located in a perfect place in Rockland, ME for ease of experiencing the area. Just a couple of blocks away, one can find restaurants, museums, the shore, shopping and more. The neighborhood is quiet and conducive to good sleep. The home is beautifully clean and well stocked with amenities to accommodate a family for a week. It is decorated so charmingly and one feels they are truly living the essence of Maine. The owners answered all questions in a very timely manner. My family of three truly enjoyed the week we spent there.

Nice Home Close to Downtown

This was a very nice, older home, very nicely renovated. The kitchen is beautiful and has everything needed. The living room and outside sitting area are very cozy. The washer/dryer was appreciated and everything is clean throughout. I was aware there is no air conditioning, but in this older home, it can get a bit warm in the upstairs bedrooms. The windows in the master bedroom could not be opened, so we slept in the second bedroom with a window that opened. There are several fans available and we ended up using most of them. The five minute walk to downtown was nice and one we took on a couple occasions. The location is perfect to get to all the towns on the mid-coast of Maine.
