The Flats at Front + Union offers 6 modern vacation rentals in one historic building. Options include:

-Flat 304 and Flat 205: 1 bedroom/1 bathroom that sleeps 4 with pull out sofa and one king bed.
-Flat 201 and Flat 301: 2 bedroom/2 bathroom that sleeps 4 with king beds in each bedroom.
-Flat 203 and 302: 3 bedroom/2 bathroom that sleeps 6. 302 has king beds in each bedroom. 203 has two king beds and one queen bed.

Front and Union sits on the most prominent corner of downtown Traverse City at 100 E Front Street, Traverse City, MI.

Each flat is perched above the activity of downtown Traverse City on either the 2nd or 3rd floor. The corner units, Flat 201 and Flat 301 have views of West Bay down Union Street. The other flats have views of Front Street or Union Street. Each flat comes with its own free parking space on site.

Each flat functions as its own living space and includes a fully equipped modern kitchen. We are proud to offer plush beds adorned with soft linens locally sourced from the Traverse City based business, eelo. More information on eelo can be found by searching "eelo Traverse City." The flats are fully furnished by Blu Dot. All down-to-earth yet wildly creative and comfortable. The feeling is eclectic.

West Bay beach, the TART trail, the marina and open space are one block away. There is no better location for immersing yourself in all the seasonal events Traverse City has to offer. We invite you to visit us on our website for more information on the experience and the history of the building.

The Flats at Front + Union are located within the historic Masonic Building, built in 1890 and repurposed into a multi use building in 2023 by two local Traverse City families. Working with local Traverse City architects and contractors, we have gone to great lengths to preserve and display the historic brick and architecture within the building. As an added bonus, scattered throughout the building are some of the most unique businesses in Northern Michigan.

We are happy to host celebrations and special events. However, we are unable to host parties or large gatherings. Out of respect for all of those that use the building, quiet hours are from 10pm to 7am.

Amazing space & location!
We are picky when it comes to accommodations and Flats at Front & Union blew us away. Beautiful space, equipped with quality products and an unbelievably responsive host. The location and parking could have been more ideal for shopping and eating downtown. We highly recommend you check it out!

Perfect weekend getaway
Hands down this is the nicest property I’ve stayed at. My partner and I were looking for a great weekend getaway and the location of the unit could not be better. We were walking distance from everything downtown TC has to offer. Everything in the unit was super thoughtful. The towels and bedding were better than what we have at home. Definitely appreciated the thoughtful, local touches. The only thing is that the location is so cool and wonderful that somebody may take your reserved parking spot. We had a couple times where we came back from a hike/outing and our spot was taken. Otherwise wonderful experience. Perfect location, easy check in, great host. Totally worth it.

The Masonic Building was built in 1890 by the Freemasonry. Current ownership is a partnership between two long time local families, the Featherstone and Vander Roests. We are only the second family to own this historic building. The character of the building, built in 1890 had been covered up with drywall and carpeting. Front + Union began repurposing the building as a multi-use building in January 2023. This was completed in June 2023. All of the character of century old brick was uncovered wherever possible in the hallways and rooms. Front + Union has 6 luxury rentals that are located in the heart of downtown Traverse City. Everything downtown is only a few minutes away. Intermixed in the building are some of the most unique businesses in Northern Michigan. Store your bike on our indoor racks and travel the TART trail during the day. Take a stroll one block to the beach for a sunset or swim. What makes this property unique

The Flats at Front + Union in Traverse City feature contactless arrival and departure. Prior to your arrival, you will be sent your own personal key code to enter the flat you have reserved. Each flat comes with one on site parking spot immediately behind the building. Elevator access provides easy entry to each floor. All flats have stepless access both inside and outside the flat, with the exception of flat 301 which, in addition to a bedroom on the main floor, has a spiral staircase to a loft bedroom. If any issues arise that you need assistance with, we will provide you with contact information for one of the owners with the guest guide
