What an exceptional home and property! Maude's place offers everything you could hope for to make a lake house family vacation unforgettable. We had such an amazing stay--swimming in the lake, enjoying meals on the deck, and walking the Leelanau Trail every day. The house is extremely spacious and thoughtfully designed for a larger group: three bedrooms and a fourth space with bunk beds that could be used as a bedroom, four full bathrooms, an outdoor deck and living room with television on each floor, an open kitchen / dining area that shares with the upper deck an *extraordinary* lake view, a wet bar and washer & dryer on the lower level, and a large yard wrapping around the house that leads out to the fire pit, patio seating, and swimming pier on Cedar Lake. There is so much to do in Traverse City and the Leelanau Peninsula, but we spent a substantial portion of our trip just savoring our time at the house, which is situated at the very end of a quiet residential street, abutted by trees and with direct access to the paved Leelanau Trail (perfect for walking and biking) and to the jewel of this property, Cedar Lake. The lake is literally right in the back yard and it is stunning. We swam several times a day; the water was clean and clear and the temperature consistently delightful. The house comes with everything you need to enjoy the outdoor space: kayaks and floating devices for the water, wood for the fire pit, swimming towels, and plentiful patio chairs and chaise lounges (if you're traveling with kids, there are also bikes for children and teenagers). We were so grateful to be able to bring our dogs, who delighted in the property as much as we did. Maude's communication was always clear and welcoming, and we were given complete privacy during our stay. We are so grateful to have stayed here. It was a perfect spot for a quiet lakeside vacation, yet with quick access to all that Traverse City and the Leelanau Peninsula have to offer. So many wonderful memories. We hope to return. VERY highly recommended!
