SPRING and SUMMER RENTALS beginning early May. This spectacular beach house with ocean views is located just one block from the Ocean Grove Beach and is the perfect for place to create new memories with family and friends.

This spacious, three -level home has 6 bedrooms, 5 bathrooms. 2 living rooms, dining room/game room, eat-in kitchen, 2 laundry rooms, A/C and wifi throughout. Just 5 blocks to downtown OG shops and less than 1/2 mile walk or bike to Asbury Park. Three (3) spacious open porches with Ocean views and front yard space w/BBQ to enjoy. No smoking anywhere on property. No pets on property.

Rental comes with 6 beach badges for your use as well as 6 or more beach chairs and beach wagon/cart. Additional beach badges can be purchased at the boardwalk and beach chair/umbrellas stands are available on the beach for rental.

Sorry no groups or parties and all renters must be over 25 years of age.

NEED MORE SPACE? Can be combined with the lower level, 3 bedroom/2 bath unit to create a 9 Bedroom/7 Bath vacation rental. Inquire about availability and pricing.

Jersey Short bliss!

This is a lovely home which checked all the boxes for a 3 generation beach vacation. It's close enough to the beach to allow the littles to walk by themselves (with an adult waiting a block away at the beach!). It was totally ready for us even though we arrived late. Has a lovely kitchen, plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms, and 2 sets of washer/dryers. I didn't realize how many steps were involved - we had 3 floors separated by 15-step staircases (whew!). Window air conditioners were a surprise to the kiddos who have grown up with central air - it didn't make a difference to the overall comfort. Our contact was Michele DeRose, the quintessential realtor contact who was endlessly patient and responsive (she offered extensive suggestions in advance for local shopping and restaurants and she sent over tablecloths on Seafood boil night!). She made all the difference. Our only complaint would be the beach badges: at $95 each and designed to be literally pinned to a hat/cover-up/bathing suit, I can say that Ocean Grove appears to be making a profit on a necessary but flimsy method of monitoring the beach. It's easy to wind up paying for lost badges (one, in our case). It was a wonderful week and we hope to return in the future.

I am also a resident with almost 30 years experience owning and/or hosting rental property here in Ocean Grove and there is nothing that I love more than introducing our sweet communities to newcomers and welcoming back regulars.

Why they chose this property

Ocean Grove is an extraordinary community with a wonderful mix of full-timers, part-timers and visitors from all walks of life who come together and care for each other and our community. Our seasons are full of festivals, community activities, arts and cultural events and plenty of opportunities to just chill with a good book, and ice cream cone or a good cup of coffee. Admire the architecture and gardens, catch a sunrise and or stroll past friendly folks enjoying "porch life".

What makes this property unique

18 Abbott has a rich history. The large structure began as a hotel called The Metropolitan in the 1910 - 1930s. Was renamed The Helen under new ownership through the 1940s and early 1950s. We suspect that the current Garden Apartment was likely used as a restaurant and common space for the hotel.

The last 20+ years, the property has operated as a two-family home with its spectacular view from the 3 large porches. This is one of the largest non-commercial rentals properties in town.
