Altitude Adjustment - Cabin with Panoramic Views

Stay high above the clouds in an exquisite log cabin with striking panoramic view. Enjoy 180 degree breathtaking high-elevation view of Lake Adger and Lake Lure. You will be on top of the mountain and enjoy an expansive covered porch for year round views. Within 12 miles to Tryon Equestrian Center. Enjoy wineries in the Tryon Foothills Wine Country. Outdoor activities abound with zip line in Saluda, Green River and waterfalls all close by.

Chimney Rock/Lake Lure - 15 miles
The space
Enter the cabin and feel the warm inviting feeling of beautiful hardwood floors, top grain leather furniture, huge fireplace and cathedral ceiling. Huge back deck with patio furniture, including fire table and gas grill. Plenty of space with 3 bedrooms, two bathrooms. The main water source is a rainwater harvesting system that has filtration/purification with a well backup.
We want you to know that we’re doing our part to help our guests stay safe by cleaning and disinfecting frequently touched surfaces (light switches, doorknobs, cabinet handles, remotes, etc.) before you check in.
You will be provided with washed and sanitized linens in each bedroom in individual packages.

We are pet friendly for up to two dogs with an additional pet fee of $75. Due to insurance, the pet will have to be pre-approved by host.

Since COVID-19, we have the linens washed, sanitized and individually wrapped. We do this to protect the guests and cleaning service. For our guests' protection, we want our guests to know the sheets and towels are clean and sanitized and packaged just for them when they checkin.

Check-out instructions

The host requires you to complete the following before checking out:
At least two hours before you leave, put dirty dishes in the dishwasher and run the dishwasher. Clean grill, if used. Put dirty towels, wash clothes and linens in the laundry bags provided.
Ensure the fire is completely out in the fireplace, clean out cold ashes and put in metal bucket. Place bucket outside in front of garage on the gravel. Close the flue and return the flue hanger.
Place all trash bags in garage via the door on the bottom porch. Set temperature on AC/Heat back to setting when you arrived. (Winter 50 / Summer 85) Turn switch for water off before you leave.
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.
Pet Policy: We do charge an additional pet fee of $75.00. Dogs are not allowed on beds/furniture and must be crated if you are not with them inside.

This Mountain Cabin is absolutely stunning! The views are breathtaking and everything one needs for an amazing stay are provided. The cabin was spotless and beautifully and comfortably decorated. The hosts responded to all inquiries in a timely fashion and were so accommodating for all our needs.

Our stay at Altitude Adjustment was peaceful and relaxing, with an amazing view. Darlene accommodated all of our needs, and the host even provided a crate that made our car ride so much easier. Like many other guests, we spent much of our time on the porch, enjoying the telescope, maps, and binoculars that fed our curiosity about the mountain.

The views are unbelievable! It was such a nice quick getaway for the weekend where you felt like you were truly on top of the world! The cabin was spotless and everything in the listing was exactly what we had. There’s a great fenced side yard for the dog because once we got up there-we didn’t leave for our whole stay. The porch is perfect for sunsets and fellowship and we even got to watch the Hincappie bike race go down the street Saturday morning.

Beautiful views and peaceful environment

By far one of the best places we’ve ever stayed at. The property and home is well maintained, stocked and clean. Property owners were easy to communicate with and very accommodating. It’s pet friendly and we were able to bring our dog. Highly recommend it. We plan on staying there again in the future.

The hosts were proactive in making sure that we were comfortable. Clean and great attention paid to the details. This cabin is located in close proximity to many places, many activities, restaurants, etc. We have booked again for the Fall.

From check in to check out, Darlene was the perfect host. The cabin is amazing with rustic charm. The kitchen was well equipped, comfortable living room area, spacious bedrooms....but nothing compares to the insane view of the mountains, to swing on the front porch while the sun is setting, it was magical. Highly recommend!

This cozy log cabin in the mountains checked off all of our boxes. Our family, including our two Goldens, enjoy our little getaway.Darlene was so helpful. The inside of the cabin was absolutely beautiful. The detail to theming is perfect, as well as spotless and fully stocked with everything we needed. The view is…Priceless! Overlooking the Blue Ridge Mountains from the front porch, and watching the sunset in evening was breathtaking! The added bonus was passing the beautiful waterfall on the way up to the cabin! Highly recommend this home!

Cozy cabin in the mountains offering mountain top views from the front porch. Fire wood ready for fires with brochures and maps for the weekend. Comfortable bed and kitchen ready for anything. Really enjoyed our stay. It really was an altitude adjustment!

Another Wonderful Stay

My wife and I enjoyed a second stay at "Altitude Adjustment" and it won't be our last. It is a great cabin with an incredible view. The property was clean and the hosts provide everything you may need (and more) for a comfortable and fun stay. We were in constant contact with Darlene prior our reservation due to the weather disaster in that area. Well...the power came on, the leaves were colorful, and I really think the merchants in the area appreciated us coming. So much to do and see!

Hi, I am Darlene and I love hosting guests at our vacation homes. Currently, we have two vacation homes. One in North Myrtle Beach, SC and the other in the mountains near Columbus/Tryon, NC area. My husband, David, and I love traveling this country and meeting new interesting people. While traveling, we have stayed in other vacation homes and loved the experience so much, we started our first vacation rental in 2010. Even though I don't physically get to meet most of our guests, I enjoy communicating with them and it gives me such joy to give them the best experience that I can.

Why they chose this property

Very close to downtown Columbus, NC (shopping, restaurants etc.) but, three miles up the mountain and you have the most spectacular views of mountains and valley below.
