Great host with excellent communication. House was clean and as advertised. Make sure to note the lack of a/c. Not an issue during our trip, really, but important to take into account. Our family enjoyed it very much!

Perfect for girls trip

Loved the property and quiet location. The view from the open-concept living area was beautiful and beach access was perfect. We had Birds Eye view of dolphins every day! It was walking distance to Carlsbad village and perfect bedroom-to-bathroom ratio for a group of four women.My only critique would be the rusty chain link fence separating the patio from the beach.

Great View, Dated Property

Great view of beach both north and south, but the property is extremely dated with window coverings that don’t quite work, scratched skillets / pans, had to call to figure out how to get in, where the laundry was (shared laundry downstairs with different access code that was not provided), etc.

Beautiful view and perfect for girls weekend

The Carlsbad Village property offered a beautiful view of the ocean and beach. My girlfriends and I sat on the two white couches by the windows and talked for hours, overlooking the surfers in the water. The property was very spacious and the kitchen has everything you need. The house would benefit from a little TLC and the bathrooms are dated and need some upgrades. Other than that it was the perfect place of my college girlfriend reunion. Plus, the town of Carlsbad is fantastic for a tasty dinner, boutique shopping and friendly people.

Home away from home!

We were so pleased with Everything! From the beautiful view of the ocean, falling asleep to the sound of the waves, and the cleanliness. We had more than enough room for two couples-we loved the large well stocked kitchen and cooked many of our own meals. Was great to have our own grill as well. We loved exploring Carlsbad with the great breweries, eateries, and shops-always something fun to do and then “heading home” to our great home away from home to take a walk on the beach and enjoy the amazing sunsets! The daily dolphin, seal, and whale sightings were amazing to watch as well as the surfers! 5 stars all the way!

Great Location

Location of property was great. Within walking distance to Carlsbad Village. The beach was right in the backyard, though, as noted in the prop description….there are stairs. To get to the sand you do need to walk over rocks… not boulders but river rock size. Beach was not crowded, which was nice. View from the house was outstanding. Property itself was comfortable but the overall property is dated especially the kitchen and bathrooms. Property Management company was very responsive to questions and requests.

Terrible time here and cost us 3 very expensive days wasted of our 5 day vacation. The home shows beautifully in the pictures, but it is sadly nothing like that in person :(. First of all and most importantly, the air conditioning DOES NOT WORK!! It does turn on and blow air, and that air may be cooler than the outside air, but it doesn’t cool the home at all. The entire 3 days we were there it was between 80-85 degrees inside even though the a/c was set on 70. Actually it was hotter inside than it was outside. None of the main windows on the ocean side open so you don’t get any ocean breeze. The windows are all fogged from the inside so you can’t see the view clearly which sucks since it’s right on the ocean. All the fixtures, counters, appliances, cabinets, windows, bathrooms, everything are very old and outdated and not maintained. Mold growing in the fridge, shower head broken, floors filthy, window balance broken so won’t open in bedroom, etc. Felt like nothing had been maintained in a long time. We couldn’t sleep and lay awake miserable and sweating for 2 nights with our 4yo crying then finally had to go sleep at a hotel just to get some rest while we found a new home to move to. Communication with the host company was extremely challenging. They use an AI or 3rd party service to answer messages and just “forward them to the staff” supposedly. No one you can make a live call to, you just have to wait and hope for a call back. No office you can go talk in person either.

This property is a 10 on location. The view and beach access were just amazing. It was very clean and spacious for our family and we had a great time there. That being said the house is in very much need of some TLC. It is very old dated with the cheapest possible appliances and the towels were awful. The kitchen is very hodgepodge. The fridge didn’t work for 24 hours causing us to toss some food I didn’t trust. The slider to the beach access is impossible to open and the gates are broken and rusty. The fireplace on the lower patio isn’t working and the furniture there looks like a storage unit. I think of the possibilities of this house with a little attention and it would be spectacular but I left a little disappointed.
