Welcome to the beach! Step right off the deck onto the beach, and you can walk or kayak for miles. This kid-friendly home is also eco-friendly! Come visit!

Entry is with a key pad - the last four digits of phone number listed on guest’s VRBO account. Please be sure that your VRBO account is updated for this to be the correct #.

We strive to be eco-friendly as well as accommodate guests with allergies or sensitivities, so linens and towels are washed using fragrance-free laundry detergent and environmentally-friendly cleaning products are used throughout house, including environmentally friendly antibacterial products. Fragrances in cleaning products are kept to a minimum.

We allow dogs (maximum two) but the yard is only partially fenced so leashes are required. We ask that dogs not be left alone in the house as the barking is bothersome to the neighbors. Other pets are not allowed.

IMPORTANT: If you are planning to harvest shellfish it is important to check daily to be sure there isn't an algae bloom, commonly called "red tide". Spring break
We had a wonderful time, home had all the needs met. We walked and got coffee, ice cream. Dug clams just out front the home. So beautiful!!! Our puppy loved running on the beach and the kids searching for sea glass was so fun to watch.

Bungalow on the Beach Birch Bay
Nice property, comfy rooms and beds, exquisite sunsets. Everything we needed to cook meals and enjoy the stay. One small problem with doorlock was quickly resolved. The deck is as wide as the house and sitting on the deck at high tide feels like youre on a boat with the waves lapping literally at and below your feet. Very satisfied overall.

About the host

This beautiful home has been in the family for over 50 years - bought by my grandfather and moved onto the lot in 1960. I grew up spending time happy times here each summer. My first "date" at the age of about 10 was with a girl from Canada who also spent summers at the beach. And she is now my wife :) . Now it is a privilege to share the home and all it's charm with others! Reach out if you have any questions!

Why they chose this property

Birch Bay is a nature-lovers wonderland. The tide goes out well over a half mile on many days, revealing the wonder of miles of tidepools all around the bay. The beaut visible all day reaches it's high point at sunset, when each lapping wave reflects the pink of the sky. Birch Bay is an amazing place - breathe easy, sunbathe on the deck, drop your shoulders, and just enjoy.

What makes this property unique

Drive along the bay and you will notice only a handful of homes that are waterside - between the State Park and the C-Shop. We are fortunate to be offering visitors one of those homes. There is no need to carry your kayaks (or anything else) across the street - it's all right here. Of the beach-side homes, this home is one of the closest to the water - and the waves lap against the seawall just below the deck most evenings. You literally look over the deck rail straight into the water, and the waves gently lull those in the front bedroom to sleep each night. It's absolutely delightful.
