Unique. Elegant. Open. Tucked in a quiet cul-de-sac nestled on the edge of a cliff, this fully renovated duplex is a perfect base for all your Black Hills adventures! This unique property is one of two surviving duplexes from the historic flood of 1972. This home was moved from it's original creekside community to the top of this hill where is has resided since 1973.
Less than 10 minutes from Rapid city center, less than 5 minutes from the Black Hills National Forest, and approximately 30 minutes to Mount Rushmore, you will be right in the heart of our beloved Black Hills.
Our large 2 bedroom, 3 bath, 1931 square foot duplex has a large open floor plan with floor to ceiling windows looking out into the beautiful Black Hills from the edge of a cliff. Upstairs are two private bedrooms. The large master bedroom is equipped with both a king size bed, a sofa pullout, a walk-in closet with stackable washer/dryer, a private balcony overlooking the cliffside, and an ensuite bathroom. The second large bedroom has a queen size bed, twin bunk beds, and a large closet. The bathroom for this space is in the hallway next to the bedroom.
On the main floor is an open floorpan kitchen with a giant granite island seating 4 people. A dining room seating 6, two sitting areas, which looks out over the hills and a large smart TV over the fireplace make this a perfect community space to relax and unwind in-between your adventures.
On the main floor is also a full bathroom and a trundle bed that has two twin beds. The main floor also walks out to a large back deck overlooking the hills.
As a disclosure, the internet works great, but cell service tends to be spotty unless you are on the front or back deck.

Amazing little home! The home has been remodeled and updated, so it looks very fresh and modern. The view out the back porch is INCREDIBLE. We enjoyed coffee every morning looking around the woods and listening to the birds. The host was very responsive and friendly to all messages. It was a great home base to go to the Badlands, Mt. Rushmore, Crazy Horse and Wind Cave NP. We would absolutely stay here again!
We really enjoyed the old charm with modern updates with our 3 boys (15, 13, and 10). The layout of the home is really great and the thoughtful furnishings and good signage and communication even bettter. The place was clean and kept as advertised. There were minor things on the exterior that could use some love, but this is one of our favorite VRBOs that we have stayed at over the last 25 years. We would stay again for sure.
The property was extremely clean and we felt safe in the community. We loved the decor, neat, warm and cozy feel. We sat on the rear deck and listened to the birds after we barbecued our dinner one of the nights. Wild Turkeys trotted by and roosted in a nearby tree. The eagles were easy to spot. The home is centrally located to all the sites. No drive was too far. Couldn’t believe how they made everything so convenient for us. We would highly recommend it and may return one day soon. Thank you!
This home offers a picturesque view along with local wildlife that does not disappoint. A nice central location, offering close driving distance to everything you need.
Great house, excellent location, the back deck is very quiet with nice views. Deer actually walk around the neighborhood and come by for a visit. Host was awesome, extremely happy with our visit.
I was very impressed with this host and rental property. Before arriving we had a last minute delay on our end. The host was so accommodating and so fast to respond. It was so refreshing to deal with a human instead of an AI generated response. We arrived at around 1 AM and getting inside was a very smooth process, even at that hour. The setting was so "South dakota-ish".... sooo much better than a hotel. We had a scenic view of mountains out of the large back windows and on the back deck. We saw many deer. Some even right in the back yard and some scaling the mountains in the background. The location was a perfect spot for us bc we wanted to be close to down town rapid City (12 min), just a few minutes from canyon lake for fishing and about 40 min to Rushmore. The house was clean- that's important to us! It was also well stocked with toilet paper, dish soap, trash bags and even propane for the grill. We even took advantage of some of the "community" products that were left behind from others like... coffee!! :) each bedroom has its own ac unit which was so nice for cool sleeping. Overall the experience was delightful. I would highly recommend this rental to everyone! Thanks Tai for everything!!

Nice quiet place, clean. Feel of being in the hills but just outside Rapid City.
This was one of the coolest rentals we’ve ever stayed at!! Felt like we were close enough to town but also far out enough that we felt like we were right in the hills! Everything was as described, spacious, clean, and so beautiful! Even our teenagers loved it. Would highly recommend!

I have nothing negative to say at all! The location is great and the mountain side view was gorgeous. I will check to see if this place is available first before I make another trip to rapid city!

Thank you so much, Charles! I'm thrilled you enjoyed your stay :)
Loved it and loved the next door dog, Sadie. Only complaints were dull knives and hard pillows especially in the master bedroom. (Costco has down alternative pillows for good prices)
This was the perfect place for what we needed. It was just outside of the city where we could enjoy the peace and quiet and the beautiful scenery that the Black Hills provides. Yet it was close enough to any of the attractions and food establishments we wanted to visit! The house is lovely, and so peaceful! We hope to be back someday!

This property was great! It was very spacious, clean, well stocked, and in a quiet neighborhood. Location provided easy access to the Badlands and Black Hills for our South Dakota. Would absolutely stay here again.

We truly enjoyed our 3 nights at this property. Excellent communication, clear and reasonable instructions, and good value for the price. Near to town but a bit off the beaten path with lovely views of Black Hills and animals.
Came out for the Hills Alive concerts. Property was beautiful, far enough out yet close enough to get to downtown easily. Beds were comfortable. Would definitely stay again!
Perfect location, beautiful, and peaceful while still being only minutes away from grocery, restaurants, and a lovely park. Centrally located for easy day trips to everywhere from the Badlands and Custer Park to Mount Rushmore and Deadwood.
The home itself is a wonderful retreat!

This house was central to all our South Dakota activities - Mt. Rushmore, the Crazy Horse Memorial, Custer State Park. We loved the backyard view in the morning, and the individual cooling units in the upstairs bedrooms made them comfortable in the summer heat.
