My regret is rhat we only stayed four days -- beautifilul location, comfortable and clean.It is 35 - 45 minutes from Mount Rushmore, Custer State Park. The road to and from the VRBO is beautiful and not too much traffic.The interior and exterior is very relaxing.

This property is beautiful. There is so much to do in the area that we were not at the property that much, but it is a stunning creek side, cliff side setting and a nicely appointed house.

Family weekend getaway

The property is beautiful and made for such a peaceful weekend. Great attention to detail with everything a guest could need, especially when cooking. Would highly recommend. We hope to come back in the fall!

Idyllic setting

This setting had a beautiful view, was quiet and separate from neighbors, and between the deck, yard, basement, fire pit, and hot tub, had multiple spaces for people to interact. We also appreciated the open dining and living room spaces adjacent to the kitchen, as we were able to set up board games and play while cooking.

The best!!! Unbelievable location, beautiful!!! Absolutely great communication with the host couple!!! Definitely will be back!!!! If you want peace, and solitude, this is the place!!! The brook that runs past is so nice to just sit by or the kids can wade in it!!!

Great Escape

Property was a great location for all surrounds towns. Peaceful and Beautiful stream right in the backyard! Problem with the Box Elder Bugs in everything, other than that Great place!

Perfect Getaway

The property was absolutely perfect for me and my family’s vacation. It’s location was perfect for seeing both Mount Rushmore and the Crazy Horse Monument. Rapid city was a short 15 minute or so drive into town witch was a huge plus for running into town quickly and being able to maximize or peaceful stay at the property. Best thing about the property was sleeping in the loft in the smaller building by the creek and listening to the creek running though out the night. Couldn’t beet the price compared to staying at a Hotel.

Beautiful Home

The photos don’t do justice on how awesome this place is. My wife and I stayed here this past weekend and it was so peaceful. The views were outstanding, the house was clean and welcoming. Jennifer was helpful and you can tell her and her husband cared about the customers experience. This was actually me and my wife’s first vacation together married and we have already discussed about coming back. Thank you Robert/Jennifer

Fabulous! Beautiful!

Home was in fabulous shape. Although we didn’t travel with children this time, it would have been so fun if we did! Home owners stocked home with board games, pack n play, extra blankets, condiments in the fridge! Hot tub was amazing! The little bath house at the hot tub was so cute with a bar, towels, and even a loft bed! Grandkids would have had a ball sleeping there! Owner was quick to reply to any messages and checked in with us to make sure all was well. Would definitely stay again!

Beautiful Getaway

We had a great stay in the hills. The location was perfect and the accommodations were great. The house and surrounding area was beautiful and we enjoyed the amenities, especially the hot tub. The house was clean and had everything we needed, right down to the Christmas tree which added a special touch this time of year. We wish we could have stayed longer to enjoy the house/area. The hosts had great communication with us. As soon as we booked, we reviewed a welcome message with instructions and the information on checking in and checking out was sent in a timely matter. Overall, a great experience and we would stay here again. Thank you.

Creek Paradise

Wonderful location next to the creek. Plenty of space and nice accommodations. Not friendly for seniors (low toilets, no grab bars, tub shower, etc.). Updates needed on deck. Gas grill on photos but charcoal grill on site. Overall well worth the expenditures considering the peace and solitude of the location. Would book again knowing what we know...

Wonderful!

We rented this home for my daughter and her fiance to stay at before and after their wedding! It's such a beautiful location and the amenities were awesome! The place was clean and exactly as described. My daughter accidentally left the top tier of her wedding cake in the freezer and the owners contacted me right away to tell me it was left behind. My daughter made arrangements to pick it up! Thank you so much!!! She was more than pleased with the home and the romantic setting! Do not hesitate to book this place! We will definitely book this again in the fall! Thank you for a wonderful stay!!

Great Vaca

I have very high standards and I know what I like. This place met all the criteria. Pictures are exactly what this beautiful home is. 3 bedrooms 2 baths which only ONE comes equipped with a shower. All tvs came with Roku, which was cool to fall asleep too. Washer and dryer were great because I went home with clean clothes and didn’t have to clean when I unpacked! The home was clean, smelled good and very homey. I didn’t want for anything, except maybe a pizza cutter! Ha! But we made do with a knife! The jacuzzi was the highlight of our nights! It was located just outside rapid city and a gorgeous drive to and from. No complaints! Would definitely stay here again! 10/10

Worst experience

I was so excited to stay & have my micro wedding at this property, I called to confirm with the property manager 3 times after online confirmation, upon arriving at property another vehicle was in the driveway, the family had also reserved the property, I had messaged the property manager that day, how could she not have realized she was giving codes to the front door to 2 different reservations, when confronted she apologized & said there weren’t any other available rentals in the area which was a lie, I later found out the property was actually booked 3 times that weekend, I not only blame VRBO but the property manager for not realizing what was happening.

The location is perfect for experiencing the Black Hills

• The location is perfect with great access to many sites in the BH. Liked the Johnson Siding General Store just 2 miles away for picking up a little food/liquor. Internet was reliable. Code lock for front door worked well and plenty of room to park 2 SUVs. • Backyard is gorgeous and one of the best features of the property. The view from the deck and the flowing creek are so cool! We played frisbee, bocce ball and enjoyed drinks on the deck. Deck could use a face-lift. We used the charcoal grill. A large gas grill would be nice. • Main floor was arranged nicely with room for 6 to dine and a comfortable living room with large windows. The beds were really comfortable, nice linens were plentiful. The bathrooms were clean, large. We cooked almost all our meals. Suggest more flatware, new knives, a large cutting board. Nice glass containers for leftovers. New non-stick cookware, toaster, coffee pot, and electric griddle all worked well. Suggest an icemaker. • The damp basement was really the only bummer for us. Two people ended up sleeping on the living room couches. We didn't sleep in The Hut. Without a bathroom and with two little kids, just didn’t work for us. It's a cool little space though with a great hot tub! Recommend adding an outdoor shower. The hosts are excellent communicators. They answered our questions promptly before and during our stay. We feel they truly want to offer people a great VRBO option. Many thanks Robert and Jennifer!

Great yard adjacent to rapid creek, neat setting. Didn't have time to enjoy the hot tub and outdoor music system, maybe next time. Location was good, road construction took a little longer to get around. Overall comfortable place to enjoy the Black Hills

Great home with convenient location to mt Rushmore. The yard is huge and waterfront area has seating to help you enjoy the beautiful surroundings. The tiny house with hot tub was a huge hit with our kids and the dogs loved the yard to stretch their legs after a long day of travel. I'd definitely stay here again.

Paradise by the Creek

Location by the creek was beautiful. Communication with the hosts was very good, and the house was clean and ready for us. But property has not been maintained. The pictures on-line are very outdated. The deck is in very poor condition with protruding nails. There was no gas grill available as shown in the pictures. Having only one shower was a challenge with multiple adults in the group. The wastewater pump in the basement is incredibly loud. The bedroom in the basement is very nice and comfortable but has no windows.

Why they chose this property

This property is amazing. It is a peaceful getaway. I love this home it has Rapid Creek running through the backyard that backs up to the Black Hills National Forest with trees and mountains. There always seems to be plenty of wildlife to watch from mountain goats, and turkeys to deer, and ducks. It's definitely a great escape from reality.

What makes this property unique

The location alone is unique. It is a serene environment that makes you feel like your in a different world for the little while your there. There is a mini bar with a sleeping loft overlooking the creek. There is a 6ft soak tub in the master bath, with a door to the backyard to hear the water. We have a great walking path that goes around the backyard. We have a nice private backyard.
