LOVELY Cottage!

We've been coming to Irvington for the past few years and this was the best and most charming place we have stayed so far. The location, decor, and supplies throughout the home were perfect! We could have simply brought ourselves and clothes and would have been set for an entire week. Highly recommend this lovely home to enjoy time down in Virginia's best kept secret of a town!

Christmas Get Together

My sisters, their husbands, my husband and myself, all enjoyed the Blue Oyster so much. We are already thinking about planning our stay for next year.

Fantastic House and Location

We had a fabulous 5 days at The Blue Oyster. The house is beautiful, comfortable, well equipped and is set within the woodland running down to water. We greatly enjoyed spending time on the deck. A real home from home. The children really enjoyed time by the pool and canoeing on the water where we saw eagles and beavers! Fantastic find but what a shame we live so far away. Thanks for a great stay and restaurant recommendations in Irvington.

A Comfortable and Relaxing Stay

Our group of 4 adults and a toddler had a wonderful time during our weekend stay at the Blue Oyster. The house is charming, nicely decorated, and partially remodeled. The location is super convenient to Irvington and a quick drive to Kilmarnock. We enjoyed dinner on the screened-in porch. The community pool is fantastic. The house was well equipped and the property manager was responsive when we had a couple questions. The main bedroom takes up the entire upstairs, and the other bedrooms are in the walkout basement. All of the bedrooms have en suite bathrooms. This all makes the house a great setup for a private and comfortable stay. We come to Irvington every year, and we will be back at the Blue Oyster!

About the host

Our family has been vacationing in the Northern Neck for several years. We have fallen in love with the Town of Irvington, and all it has to offer.

Why they chose this property

Vineyard Grove is a peaceful community of 19 homes (also called "Tents"). The community was designed like the old revival camps of the 19th and 20th centuries. We have many full time residents as well as vacation home owners. Vineyard Grove is within walking distance to the Town of Irvington, and centrally located so you can take advantage of all the Northern Neck has to offer!

What makes this property unique

We have put a lot of love into our home, with a brand new kitchen, state of the art appliances, and new furnishings throughout. Sip your morning coffee on the front porch and enjoy a cocktail on the screened porch overlooking the creek. The many community amenities are available to guests (seasonally), including a community pool, kayak dock, nature paths, and more!
