About this property
The Lookout, A River Retreat
4 Bedrooms | 3 Full Baths | Sleeps 14
Celebrate any season and relax with the whole family at The Lookout - our first spacious river retreat at Watershed! Located directly on the majestic Little Miami River, surrounded by wooded hillsides, and a natural wellspring-fed creek, this is the ideal setting for both relaxation & fun for all ages. You`ll fall in love with the park-like grounds, the fire pit surrounded by adirondack chairs, & sweeping river views, as well as over 300 ft of private shoreline to wade out in pristine waters, cast a line and snag a smallmouth, or easily launch a kayak for a lazy float trip with friends.
If unlimited options for ‘unplugged’ family fun (without having to drive anywhere) is what you’ve been seeking, The Lookout delivers like no other vacation retreat! Tune in to nature’s soundtrack of rustling leaves, clear, rushing creek water, and excited shouts of discovery from the kids, when they spot their first salamander, crawdad…or maybe even an arrowhead! Enjoy your morning coffee by the water, watching the bald eagles soar through the Sycamore trees, or unwind with an evening glass of wine on the comfy rockers of the private deck.
Share old memories and make new ones over some toasty s’mores around the campfire and fall asleep to a free nightly symphony, compliments of the crickets and bullfrogs in the distance . If it gets a little rainy, come inside and choose a board game, work a jigsaw puzzle, play a retro 2-player arcade video game, or watch a family movie on one of the giant flat screens.
Rested & Relaxed, it’s time to venture into downtown Loveland! While you may feel removed from it all, just remember that all of Loveland’s modern conveniences are just a short ride away - luxury restaurants, quaint boutiques, cold (adult!) beverages. Plus, quick trips to the grocery store or a great local pizza or Mexican restaurant are less than a 5 minute drive from the house!
Coming Soon - ‘The Heist’! Built in 1860 and currently undergoing restoration, this historic, character-filled cabin will be joining the Watershed collection in July! Earning it’s place in Cincinnati lore for a famous Rembrandt art heist (gone wrong), this quiet riverfront cabin is loaded with quirky features, comfy swings on screened porches, a private campfire area by the rushing creek and even a working outhouse. Check back for updates on progress!

Nice house, stocked with everything you need for some time away from home. Beds were comfortable and the linens were amazing! Would easily rent from these owners again!
It was summer so we did Kings Island, and Noahs Ark,and played pickleball at Keehner Park in Mason, went to Jungle Jims a good time had by all and memories made with kids and grandkids. We were comfortable and slept well no issues with the place, it was great!
We enjoyed our stay at the River House. It was just as listed. The house was clean! We always got a prompt response when we had questions. We were very pleased with the property!
Wonderful property! We have some tall family members who had to be careful enjoying the lower level, but overall it was very comfortable and exceptionally clean. Owners were super on communication. Would definitely book again in the future. Thanks for the great stay!
Hi John!
I’m not sure you are reviewing the correct property! Our property is extremely close to almost everything in Loveland! Not sure you could actually get a better location!
The Lookout - River Retreat: a beautifully decorated & roomy house! Loved all the ‘fish/river/outdoors’ theme throughout the house. The beds were very comfortable & overall the house was very clean. Plenty of towels/washcloths. It was at a convenient (to great restaurants & shopping in Loveland)/scenic location. We came to Ohio to visit family in various town in nearby areas & the house was located so that traveling was quite easy. It was a very easy check-in & check-out. What few issues that may have occurred - Drew was responsive / helpful. We would definitely love to return one day!
