About this property
Coast Road Cottage, Carnivan, Fethard on Sea, Wexford
Our cottage is less than 10 minutes walk away from Carnivan and Baginbun beaches, on the coast road, 3kms from the lovely coastal village of Fethard on Sea on the Hook Peninsula. While the cottage doesn't have sea views, it has a great view of the countryside from the rear deck which has a picnic bench where you can enjoy the Wexford Sunsets. The house is ideal for a family as the yard is fully enclosed and grassed (once the gate is closed). (Travel cot, high chair and baby bath are available on request). The cottage has an open plan kitchen, dining and lounge. The Kitchen has dishwasher, gas hob, electric oven and microwave, dining table which seats 6 and lounge area with TV (including Free to Air Satellite), 3 bedrooms (two of which have double beds, the third a set of bunks), 1 bathroom (without bath). The cottage is located on a working farm with fields for miles. During spring and summer we often have calves in the field next door. If you are planning an Autumn or Winter escape then evenings can be spent snuggled up in front of the wood burning stove. The house is well insulated and has oil fired heating. There are no additional charges for the unlimited hi-speed 5g wifi with 390mbps speed, electricity or oil heating.

We absolutely loved staying here. The check in process was so simple and Laurene was constantly communicating with us. She was quick to respond any time we needed something and she also gave us great recommendations for things that were happening during our stay. The space was great for what we were looking for and a good distance from a lot of different things to see!

Thank you for your lovely review, great guests, thanks for leaving cottage so beautifully clean, much appreciated.
Laurene and Mike are friendly, helpful hosts. They live next door to the house, respect their guests’ privacy but are available if you need them. If you are seeking peace and quiet in a rural setting with beaches nearby, it’s an ideal place to stay. The hosts run a farm with calves which animal lovers will enjoy. Many thanks for a lovely stay.

About the host
Hosted by Laurene
I was born in New Zealand, married 20 years to Mike who is a farmer. We have been hosting our cottage for 15 years and love meeting new people and making sure they enjoy their stay with us.
Why they chose this property
We have the best of both worlds, beautiful sandy beaches within a stones throw, and lovely lush countryside. Our local village while small has plenty of amenities, two pubs, one that serves food, award winning cafe GraLinn. Outdoor adventure kayaking, standup paddle boarding, coasteering, plus there are many beautiful walks. The Hook Peninsula is part of Ireland's Ancient East with many castles, abbeys and the worlds oldest lighthouse.
What makes this property unique
Our beautiful bungalow is an ideal place to explore the Hook Peninsula and is a favourite with families. Two beaches are within walking distance (both with white sand), one ideal for children - Baginbun Beach, and the other Carnivan ideal for surfing. The house is fully enclosed once the front gate is closed.
