PINE COUNTY LICENSE A-576249

THE SPACE:
The cabin is 720 square feet. It is efficiently furnished to make the most of its small footprint. There are no closets and very limited floor space so pack light! It is best suited for parties of 1-4 with a maximum occupancy of six that is strictly enforced by Pine County licensing.

Living Room: Window A/C unit, petite sectional, 32” TV with DVD and Roku where you may login to your streaming service. YouTube TV is provided.

Kitchen: You will have everything you need in the well-equipped kitchen with a gas stove/oven, microwave, and refrigerator/freezer. The kitchen is fully stocked with pots/pans, utensils, spices, crockpot, and toaster. Enjoy your complimentary morning coffee (Folgers/K-cups) with the use of a combo coffee pot/K-cup machine. Please note there is no dishwasher.

A small dining table seats three with additional barstool seating for two at the counter. Or better yet, enjoy your meals al fresco in the backyard with table seating for four!

Bedroom 1: Guests rave about the cozy Queen bed! The ceiling fan and stand-alone fan will provide comfort on hotter days. The side door leads to a private deck where you can relax with a garden view. Please note the door to this room is not a standard door but an accordion door. There is one, small step down when entering the room.

Bedroom 2: Queen bed with small writing desk.

Bedroom 3: The bunk bed nook! (For safety, children under six are not allowed on top bunk and max weight is 175 pounds).

Bathroom: Full-sized shower with small water heater. Please be mindful of shower time so no one is left in the cold! Blow dryer, TP, towels, and toiletries provided.

Outdoors: Weather permitting, this is where you will likely spend most of your time! Enjoy the firepit, Blackstone, gas grill, and screened gazebo surrounded by woods. The firepit comes with small supply of wood. Additional bundles may be purchased at gas stations in town.

In under a minute, you can walk the wooded path to the dock. Cast a line in the bay, build a fire, or enjoy the sunset. With prior arrangements, you may dock your boat using the public boat launch. Please note, this is a small, shallow bay and it does not accommodate large boats. The bay is not suitable for swimming due to unpredictable algae blooms.

GUEST ACCESS:
You may access the full property with the exception of the outdoor sheds. The dock is available with prior arrangements.

OTHER THINGS TO NOTE:
We like to be as transparent as possible about our cabin so there are no surprises! We do live next door, but give you privacy to enjoy your stay. We are available to assist, answer questions, or fix issues you may encounter. You confirm by booking this property, you have read the entire listing and agree to the house rules.

The cabin is not handicap accessible. There is a small staircase with six steps to enter the cabin and narrow doorways on the interior.

Children are welcome but the property may not be suitable for infants and toddlers. There are stairs, elevated decks, uneven ground, a firepit, and absence of child safety features. The bathroom is shower only. The property is not fenced and a creek borders it leading to the bay. It is imperative that little ones are supervised at all times!

The cabin has a shallow well. It is fine for bathing, but not suitable for drinking. A gallon of complimentary water is provided but please bring ice and drinking water for each person for the duration of your stay.

No central air!! There is one window A/C in living room, which cools the front of the cabin. Evening temps drop and with the windows open, bedrooms are typically comfortable for sleeping. Each bedroom has a stand-alone fan to assist with air circulation. The cabin is equipped with a furnace in the rare event it is needed during summer months.

There are two motion activated BLINK cameras that are on at all times. The cameras record short audio/video clips. One is located on the path that leads to our house. and the bay. It partially covers the driveway of the cabin. The other camera is located by the dock. By booking this property you acknowledge and accept the presence of these cameras. There are no other cameras located on the cabin property.

This is a seasonal property and only available for a limited time during the year. Every booking is important and there is a firm cancellation policy. You are strongly encouraged to purchase trip insurance in case of bad weather, car trouble, illness, flight delays, etc. There are NO refunds for canceling outside the policy.

We can't control the weather, allergies, bugs, lake level, the green algae, or the fish not biting! We do everything we can to keep the cabin pest free, but keep in mind this is a wooded environment. There are lots of critters in the neighborhood including wild turkeys, rabbits, squirrels, deer, turtles, loons, and the occasional bear sighting. If you are lucky, you will catch the magical glow of fireflies and hear the hooting of our favorite resident, Owl Pacino. If you check out the bay, you may see the biggest beaver this side of the Mississippi, known in the neighborhood as GNAWS!

About the host

Host profile image
After living in Minneapolis for 20+ years, I made the decision to leave city life behind and settle in the pines. I live here year round, and enjoy every season! I work in public service and have three adult sons. I enjoy writing, photography, bird watching, gardening, and being outdoors. I live on just the other side of the creek with a small walking bridge separating the properties. I will greet you upon arrival and give you a brief tour. I like to give you privacy but am available for any issues or even a cup of sugar! I typically stop by once a day to water the flowers so feel free to say hello. I prefer communicating via the Airbnb app and ask that questions be limited to urgent issues between 10 p.m. and 8 a.m.

Why they chose this property

The cabin is located on a rural, dead end road and fairly secluded from neighbors. Please be mindful of quiet hours from 10 p.m. to 8 a.m. Neighboring lots are private property and not for exploring. Cross Lake connects to Pokegama Lake via the Snake River. There is over 3000 acres of water fun! Cross Lake is river fed and the conditions are ever-changing. Like all lakes, water level may be high or low and algae blooms are unpredictable. Nature is out of our control thus refunds and discounts will not be given if lake conditions or weather prohibit activities. This cabin DOES NOT have a lake view, but a short 30 second walk leads to the bay. You can launch your kayak or sink a line. Please note it is a small, shallow bay and not suitable for swimming due to the sometimes pesky algae blooms. Located just 10 minutes from downtown Pine City, you can enjoy local restaurants, bars/breweries, thrift stores, mom and pop shops, parks and the fairgrounds. There is a public beach with free paddleboats and paddleboards. Stop at Walmart off I-35 EXIT 169 to stock up on supplies. There are fun events in the summer such as Farmer's Market, art festivals, car shows and the Pine County Fair. If weather puts a damper on outside activities, Grand Casino Hinkley is a 10 minute drive!

What makes this property unique

Enjoy the firepit, gas grill, and screened gazebo surrounded by woods. Firepit comes with starter pack of wood. Additional wood may be purchased at gas stations in town.
