This is a tough one. Some issues of expectations.
The house is meant for families & holds multi-generations beautifully. Built & supplied w/ quality & love, it feels very homey. But, although the home was basically very clean, a few things made it feel otherwise. The lush, off-white carpeting was quite dirty in high-traffic areas, which is understandable, but first impression wasn't good. The few throw rugs all looked pretty dirty, but might just be old. The windows--so many, lovely windows, with gorgeous look-outs were really dirty, which was a shame. But all other elements like hard-flooring, bathrooms, showers, kitchen elements were very clean.
Confusion in directions. 1) the said only "starter kits" of supplies would be on the premises until you could make a trip to the store. Not so, there was plenty of everything for our 4 nights with a family of 6. 2) Check-out instructions said 2 different things--take your trash away to the dumping center AND place the cans on the street for pick-up with a schedule of dates. I called on this and was told to take cans to the street. Talking to neighbors we learned this was wrong. 3) listing of the bathrooms was off, but no big deal--it has 2 full baths, a shower room & a half bath. 4) Key was tricky--once putting in code & turning lever, red light comes on, door won't open. Tried it numerous times. The trick is to push the door handle one way, then the other after entering code in order to get the green light to open. 5) Pricing, (we're used to included extra fees), it was unfortunate. We booked through Sister Vacation Rentals, with several taxes and fees listed. Then a VBRO fee was added. It was confusing. Rental ended up double the quote, not including resort fees. 6) RESORT FEES. No idea it was per day per person. I thought it was a fee for using the pool.
The furniture was of high quality but a couple of the prime seating spots were so worn, they were very uncomfortable. I rolled up magazines as a lumbar support to read on the sofa near the light. The queen bed and bunks were great! The king, a memory foam, had enough sag to be uncomfortable.
Shower stalls are slippery for older folks & for little ones. Both the toddler & the grandpa slipped.
All in all, the location, walk-ability to Glaze Meadow Pool, was an amazing plus! It is the main reason we would rent the house again. The home is a very comfortable lay-out. The AC & private hot tub were essential to us.
