Our stay was great. Although, after the weekend the host messaged and claimed we did damage to the property that we did not do.

We appreciate guest feedback however, we do want to clarify that we only reach out regarding damage or rule violations when we have verified evidence. In this case, we received reports and a video from neighbors noting loud music, disruptive behavior, and violations of quiet hours. Upon inspection after departure, our team also found a significant mess and damage, including stained bedding, vomit all around the outside of the property, bent window screens, and a damaged window crank. It is our standard practice to thoroughly check the property after every stay, and we never contact guests about potential damages unless we have documentation to support the concern. Our intention is always to approach these matters fairly, professionally, and transparently.

This was a perfect space for our family of 18 to gather for a long weekend! The location is amazing, just behind the main shopping street and two blocks to the beach. There were plenty of beds and bathrooms and having three different living room type spaces also gave plenty of flexibility with multiple generations. The hosts were also very responsive to messages and gave clear instructions.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This home was perfect for our large family. We especially liked the outdoor area connecting the two homes. Great Family vacation

There were 7 adults and 6 kids! The house was perfect! Lots of plates and silverware for us to prepare and enjoy most of your meals at the house! Plenty of room to spread out. The fire pit in back yard was perfect for s’mores, and we made several bon fires on the beach as well! We also enjoyed the board games provided! We will definitely one back!

Family Reuion

We had a family reunion here - 11 adults and 2 children, and a dog. It was perfect for us. The two houses let us divide up into the late night house and the early to bed house. The breezeway was perfect for all of us to eat in and have drinks. Two quick blocks to the beach with a coffee shop and a hot dog stop on the way. Well equipped and comfortable. Being able to bring our dog was a huge plus. We really enjoyed out time here. I highly recommend these houses to any group.

Thank you so much for your thoughtful review! We’re thrilled to hear that the homes worked out perfectly for your family reunion—and what a great idea to divide into a “late night” and “early to bed” house! We’re so glad the breezeway gave you a comfortable space to gather, and that the proximity to the beach (and coffee and hot dogs!) added to your experience. It’s wonderful to hear your pup was able to join in the fun, too. We’d love to welcome your group back anytime! Sunset to Sunset Vacation Rentals

Truly a "Sanctuary" close to EVERYTHING!

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our trip was an extended Family vacation with ages 21 to 82 all from out of state and this home was perfect for all 10 adults. It is exceptionally clean, well equipped for cooking & entertaining both indoors and out. Location can't be beat with short walks to the center of Manzanita shops & restaurants & the beach. Property Management was very informative pre-arrival and accessible & responsive while during our stay. I highly recommend Sanctuary in the Shire for any Family vacation to the Oregon Coast!

Excellent Manzanita rental for large groups

We enjoyed a weekend together with our 4 adult children, their spouses and 4 grandchildren (total 14 people). Having two homes that are closely connected were an ideal set up for our group. The location was outstanding, just a short walk to coffee, grocery and shops. The beach is an easy flat 3 block walk. The homes are beautifully remodeled and well appointed with plenty of dishes, silverware, pots/pans, etc. plus beach toys and games for kids. The outdoor gathering areas are a great addition and dogs are allowed. There was plenty of parking and we were notified when the house was ready for us to check in (an hour before the assigned check in). The only small convenience I might add would be shower organizers or something to set soap/shampoo on in the showers. Thank you so much!!!

Family friendly homes

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I stayed with my extended family at the newly remodeled houses at the Shire. Worked out very well to have two interconnected homes. We were able to have large dinners in the connected covered outdoor area. Somewhat soft beds and if you are over 6’ in the smaller home the upstairs bedroom won’t work, but otherwise a great stay. A minute walk to downtown and 3 to the beach. Great location and a good time for all.
