This cabin, built in 1906, the second built in the Mount Hermon Christian Conference community, is nestled amongst majestic giant Redwoods, with lovely Zayante Creek running just below the cabin. Often, kids are down playing in the creek before the car is even unloaded! Path to the Sequoia Hiking Trail. Five minute walk to the Mount Hermon Auditorium.
Enjoy the crisp, clean air and blue sky. Guests often come to this getaway to write, catch up on some reading, or just experience a time of reflection. Great nature trails through the Redwoods located in the Mount Hermon Conference Center grounds are literally outside your front door. This place is a photographer’s dream location.
Those wanting a little more excitement might want to try the Mount Hermon Canopy Tour, a two hour tour of the Redwoods which includes six zip lines and two sky bridges!
Other visitors are drawn to the many opportunities available nearby: World Class golf courses such as Pasatiempo (10 minutes away) designed by Alister Mackenzie who designed Augusta National, site of the Masters or Pebble Beach and Spyglass less than an hour away in Carmel; the Monterey Bay Aquarium; fabulous beaches in Capitola and Santa Cruz (15 minutes); Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, an oceanfront amusement park; best shopping in the Bay area at Stanford Mall plus Stevens Creek and Santana Row in San Jose (45 minutes); many antique stores in Capitola, Aptos, Felton, and Los Gatos; wonderful restaurants throughout the area. Plus guests can enjoy all of the excitement of San Francisco, just 90 minutes away!
An absolutely 'don't miss' experience is walking the 3 mile oceanside along West Cliff Drive in Santa Cruz.
You will find this rustic cabin to be in excellent condition and beautifully furnished. The cabin has a small kitchen with a table and chairs overlooking the wooded forest, an inviting living room with two couches and other seating, one bedroom with a brass queen bed with French doors opening to the living room, another bedroom with queen bed (comfy 12' mattress). A huge outside deck with a redwood picnic table and a second picnic table.
The cabin is full of antique furniture and plenty of books and games.
Decks completely surround the cabin as with spectacular views.
Dining on the deck is an option with a large propane grill.
We welcome you to a wonderful experience in this very special place.
This is a residential neighborhood located adjacent to the Mount Hermon Christian Conference Center grounds, and 'partying' is absolutely unwelcome here.
Also, for those who need to stay 'connected', WI FI is in the cabin. There is no cable or smart TV.
Absolutely no pets or smoking indoors or outdoors or anywhere on the property is allowed including the parking area. Thanks for your consideration.
We regret that the fireplace is not available for use for renters in the fall of 2025 due to fire season. Please note that there is no washer and dryer and no dishwasher. There is a drying rack available.
For those visiting the cabin without a vehicle, within a mile from the cabin, you will find a Mexican restaurant, a few coffee places, an organic market with a nice deli, a supermarket, drug store.
Best,
Stacy (co-owner with brother, Scott)
SPECIAL NOTE: From time to time Mount Hermon has weekend getaway camps for children at Redwood Camp. While this camp is across the canyon, you can expect to hear singing and announcements over the loudspeaker for periods of time (an hour usually).
