The home is beautiful and comes with everything you need. One detail i really appreciated was the labeling on drawers, doors, and light switches. That helped with a lot of guessing. Please note that this home is out a distance from grocery stores so make sure you do your shopping before coming in.

A great multi family home. The cabin was clean, had plenty of towels and kitchen dishes/cooking supplies. The kids loved the downstairs with space to play. Upstairs dining table had lots of seating. We cooked most meals at the cabin and the large refrigerator was awesome. We loved the wrap around decking. The kids loved the rope swing.

The house was much as we expected with the exception of the mattresses, which could double as operating room tables (the one in the master was much better than the rest). Several in our family woke up with a stiff neck or a pinched shoulder. Didn’t make for comfortable lodging.

Hi Susan! Thank you for your feedback. We never like to hear that anyone is having a nights sleep that is uncomfortable so we definitely will look into this. We have not had any complaints from previous guests and I believe most of the mattresses are the same manufacturer make and model. I will ask the owners for sure. It is always hard when it comes to mattresses. Some love a hard mattress some love a soft mattress and getting it "just right" for everyone is always a bit of a crap shoot. But we try my dear I promise. Take care and come back and see us. Susan

mountain charmer!

This property was clean, comfortable and really lovely. Plenty of space for a crowd, with several bedrooms on the main level, which matters for us because we travel with an 87 year old family member who struggles with stairs. The kitchen was very well equipped and labeled. Powder Horn Mountain, although a little remote, had a really beautiful pool area and a fantastic stream area near the campground for creek stomping. All in all, this was a really delightful place for a low-key family get together.

Great layout for large gatherings. Lots of sleeping space, good layout of bathrooms, nice that the kids have their own living space downstairs. Spacious wrap around outside deck space. String lights for the back deck don't work. Kitchen could use freshening; while the cabinets and drawers are full, some things are pretty worn, if there's kitchen ware you really need to feed a crowd, recommend bringing with you.

A great stay

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Acorn Cottage was the best supplied rental I ever booked. It has everything you need and more. The cooking spices and supplies were great to have. The view is amazing. The cottage is very comfortable and I slept better there than my own bed! It was dark and quiet at night. The noise in the house does not carry from upstairs to downstairs so if there are nightowls you will not be disturbed.

The perfect place for our crew!

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This cottage was absolutely perfect for our group! My parents stayed in the main suite, and having their own bathroom was a big bonus. My brother and his family used the other two rooms on the main floor, and my family of five used the three bedrooms in the basement. Having two living areas in the house was SO nice! We also truly appreciated being able to bring our two dogs with us. The property description and pictures allowed us to plan in advance, and everything was clean and well-maintained. Communication with the property manager was easy and we appreciated the quick response time. We'd highly recommend this property to others, and I'm sure we'll stay here again when we visit Boone--it was just right for what we needed! For anyone looking for activities in the area, we would definitely suggest checking out Appalachian Tubing Company--closest tubing company to the cottage, easy online reservations, and the friendliest guys who run it!

This beautiful property was the perfect place for our group of 12! It was clean, came equipped with everything we needed for our stay and more! The host made sure there was information about the property and surrounding areas and was great at communicating with me. It came with all kinds of stuff to entertain the kids with. We really enjoyed our stay and hope to stay again sometime! I would recommend it to anyone!
